Chapter 17: He Couldn't Resist It No More

*READ AUTHORS NOTE AT END*

Nico Marin

I'm such a liar. My manager is my mom... I could have easily backed out of meeting her. But that's not what I'm planning. I planned out a masquerade party where I had to use the help of both Dylan's.

D squared.

That's pretty cool.

Girl Dylan planned the outfit that Lanie has to wear and boy Dylan called in all of their family members and the kids from the bookstore with their parents and I invited a few of my friends.

I'm standing in front of a mirror wearing a suit and tie. Maybe I'm not going to live up to her expectations or give her the time she wants. But I will do something.

I have a tie that matches her dress.

Coincidence? I think not.

I walked out the front door and made my way to where the masquerade dance was taking place.

Sweat was rolling down my forehead. It was no shock that I was extremely nervous. I mean who wouldn't be. Lanie is just soo... Beautiful.

As I walked into the ballroom the ceiling was white and he chandeliers were gold. The rest of the walls were made of dark wood. There were portraits on the wall with intricate detailing and it almost resembled the titanic.

"Hey what's up man? The chandeliers are pretty cool. I've been singing Sia's song Chandelier since I've been here." It was Dylan. The dude. Her brother. The one that broke the door of my car. That was actually pretty funny.

"Have you seen Melanie?" I asked him.

He pointed to a different part of the room. Towards the back.

I followed the direction. I had a gold mask that lingered on my head. I placed it on my face and kept walking. I bumped into people. I recognized a few of them like the kids. And I think Ben just noticed me too, he's glaring at me. I saw Ariana. I invited her since I know how much Lanie likes her. And now she could finally perform for her. I just have to ask what's her favorite song and I'll tell Ariana considering she couldn't pick which one she wanted to sing.

I finally see Lanie wrapped around navy blue fabric with gold detailing. But that wasn't the only thing wrapped around her, so was Jeremy's arms. Melanie was looking down and she looked a bit uncomfortable. Her eyes roamed around the room searching for something other than Jeremy to look at, or at least that's what I assume.

When her eyes catch mine staring at her a small smile comes on her face. She quickly took Jeremy's hands off of her and began making her way towards me. I met her halfway.

"Hey." She said in a whisper.

"Hey." I said it a bit louder just because it wasn't super quiet in here.

She smiled and every time I see that smile I try my best to not lean forward and kiss her.

"I wanted to ask you something," I told her.

She nodded her head to keep going.

"What's your favorite Ariana Grande song?" As I said her name her eyes brightened up and she started rambling.

"Well I really like best mistake but then there's break free and problem but I think I really like break free at the moment. Why, is she here? Oh my gosh Nico!!! Is she going to sing? I can't-" I cut her off by putting my finger lightly on her lips.

She would have kept going if I didn't, then I couldn't go and tell Ari the song.

"Well I would love to answer all of your questions right now but I must be on my way. Don't worry I'll be back." I quickly said and winked at her.
