It was finally the end of the day. It was breezy out today, but the weather has been surprising this Spring. The weather men on tv were talking about snow. I put my earbuds into my ears and "Make You Believe" by Lucy Hale blasted.
I was humming along to it as I walked down the long hallway that lead to the exit of the school. I never really looked around the hallway to notice that there were paintings of student in art class hanging around to represent what they believed in. Like there was one of a bunny that said, "Don't test on animals" I think it's a great message.
I opened the doors of the school and was met with that breezy spring air. And faces of people in which I recognized as paparazzi. Nico hasn't left the school yet.
Dang it.
"Hey! That's Melanie Anderson! The girl Nico was singing with at the premiere." One of the paps yelled.
"Yes! And she made it into the Talent Show Nico is judging." Replied another.
I barely saw their faces. All I saw was flashing lights, and all I could hear were questions coming my way. I didn't like ignoring people, but I felt like I shouldn't say anything to these people.
Suddenly, someone grabs me from the back and I turn around to face them.
It was Nico.
"Sorry, this is my fault. The paps are people who make a living by being nosy." He shook his head in shame.
I agree. I understand it's your job to get the inside scoop on celebrities and stuff, but can't you do it in a much more decent matter? They need to know when they can or can't show up.
"It's ok, but maybe we should get away?" His eyes widened in realization. Then nodded. "That was sort of the reason I'm here. To get you, and get out of here."
He grabbed my hand and we made our way back inside of the school. Maybe he was looking for some kind of back door? I think the paparazzi noticed that too, because they soon began to evacuate to the back of the school and towards the yard.
Then Nico stopped. He turned around and began heading towards the front again. I smiled as I got what he was doing. He winked back at me.
By this point the music that was playing had stopped and we were taking our time as we passed by the music section of the hall, towards the exit... Again.
It was silent. A comfortable silence took place, but then over crowded by a sound of loud drums, and electric guitar.
"Do you hear that?" Nico asked looking back at me. He was still hiding my hand, and I was trying so hard not to blush. If he noticed, he didn't show it.
"Yeah, I think it's coming from the instrument room." He said as we made our way over there.
Now I know what you're thinking. Why is it so important for us to go see what's going on? But you don't understand. Whoever was playing was good. You can also tell it's not just one person. But the song sounded like "Don't Stop" by 5 Seconds of Summer. And the voice... Was deep raspy and sort of hot.
The window to the room was to high up for me and I couldn't see. Nico didn't really say anything but I knew he could see.
I opened the door as quietly as possible so I wouldn't be seen. It would be weird to stalk some super cool people practicing singing right?
Some guy with blondish brown hair was playing the drums. It was a fascinating thing to witness honestly. But then I looked at the dude with the mic and electric guitar.
"And everybody want to take you home tonight, but I'm gonna find a way to make you mine." He sang. I could only see the side of his face, but I knew who it was. It was Jeremy. The bad boy Jeremy. My neighbor Jeremy. The dude that peed on me Jeremy.
He was singing one of my most favorite songs in a really nice way, and to think I didn't even know he could sing.
"Don't Stop! Doing what your doing. Every time you move to the beat it gets harder to breathe and you know it, know it, know it." By this point the hair that was usually out of his face in a messy manner in the top of his head was spread over his face making him look... Attractive.
Everything felt like it was going in slow motion, and I was slowly walking into the room. Letting go of Nico's hand.
"Everyday it's the same, love and games that you play. Back and forth, round and round, kinda like it this way." He sang as loud, the music quieting down just leaving him playing the guitar.
Then he looked up and was shocked to see me. He looked over my shoulder I guess looking over at Nico. But continued with the song.
"Don't stop doing what your doing. Cause every time you move to the beat it gets harder for me and you know it, know it, know it. Don't stop. Cause you know that I like it. Every time you walk in the room, you got all eyes on you and you know it, know it, know it." He said this in a whisper his breathe fanning over the tip of my nose. I didn't realize he was so close.
Nico grabbed my hand in a possessive but gentle manner.
The music has stopped and the blonde dude by the drums was just staring. Jeremy had a feeling of pain in his eyes, but when he looked away and met Nico's they turned into anger. His jaw was clenched and if this were a cartoon he would be shooting heat rays at Nico.
What the actually fuck was going on?
I cleared my throat, snapping everyone out of there gaze.
"Um, I didn't know you could sing Jeremy." He seemed to be angry. Maybe not at me, but just angry.
"You know now." He said. His face was emotionless. There was no way of seeing into his soul.
"Yea, but not because you told me." I snapped. I wasn't mad. Why should I be? But I wasn't going to be spoken to with disrespect.
"Never came up." He quickly said as he took set the electric guitar on a table.
"I have to go." He muttered as he paced out of the music room.
--END OF CHAPTER--
I apologize for this chapter being super short, but I wanted to give you guys something. I have 2,000 and something reads on this story. THAT IS THE MOST AMAZING THING EVER. THANK YOU. I'm not even sure if that made sense.
But seriously?! I AM SO FREAKING HAPPY!!!
If I wasn't such a lazy butt, I would have danced along to the music Jeremy was singing. Even if he was being a little bitch. (Hehehe >=])
But thanks again people!!! And if you would like a chapter dedicated to you then just comment saying you want a dedication. I'd be happy to give you guys one.
Random Thought of The Day:
My friend had this logo of a turtle in his wallet... I stole the turtle and named him squishy. My teacher was absent that day so we spent the whole period arguing about the gender, the species and the name of the turtle, oh and who would inherit him when the owner (my friend) died. But I had every right. He said it was a dude and that he was a squirrel... At least I know my animals.
My life... That's actually a true story.
