SAKARI REACHED THE CAVE, SEEING THE SEISHIN TWINS chatting with Aoi. Aoi was donned in different attire than he was before, this time being in a sleeveless purple dress with golden accents at the end. His dark boots made a slight sound when he turned to see Sakari.
"Hey, Sakari!" the blue fire entity smiled at her. "What's up?"
"Hey, Aoi." she waved at him. "I just wanted to ask Aerial about something." their brown hues looked at the books placed on the floor, where the twins were sitting. One book was open between the two. "What's this?"
"It's a book about the white flames and the similar species related to them." Tina spoke up, adjusting her glasses. "Aoi and his alter, Aurora, were explaining on the one we came across at the cave."
"Aurora?" Sakari knew that the species Tina was referring to was the Perfide, that odd white flame. She knew the blue-haired woman was doing it out of respect for Aoi himself.
"Aurora's a nonhuman alter of mine." Aoi explained. "She formed around the time I had been practicing on my blue fire powers more, so how she looks is based off of those. It was around the same time Esther came to be."
"Okay!" Sakari still didn't know much on DID, but she did understand some parts of it. She looked back down at the book and sat down in front of it.
Tina noticed that they were curious about it, rotating it so the text was rightside up. Sakari tilted their head to read the text.
Perfide are a very rare type of white flame that rebelled from the original ones eons ago. They can possess people and manipulate them into turning against those of their loved ones or even strangers that try to help them. Perfide are also known to be quite mischevious and are considered cousins of a more dangerous spirit — Pernicies, which has various meanings. A couple of them being "destruction, injury, and pest". They can do more than cause mischief by these words.
Off to the right, there was a picture of a Pernicies, which looked like the Perfide. The difference was that it looked to be larger in size by the drawing in the book and its colors were inverted. Sakari squinted. This wasn't a white flame...it looked like a dark flame.
She addressed that to the twins and Aoi and they agreed.
"I think that back when the spirits were being studied, there were some mistakes made when naming them." Aoi voiced, scratching the bottom of his chin where stubble was forming. "So this got put under the white flames category, when these actually go under the dark flames." he took a look at the text again. "It says that they're more common in places known to have had shrines for spirits in the cities or forests. They're pretty much rare everywhere else."
"Oh wow. I think there's a forest near the school." Sakari mused, tapping one of their legs absently. "I don't think any Pernicies would be there, right?"
"I'm not sureee?" Aoi drawled out the last part since he honestly didn't know. "I could be wrong, but hopefully, it won't disturb anything there."
"Yeah, especially since we have a dance coming up tomorrow." Sakari wore a small smile.
"A dance?" Tina's hues perked as she looked up from the book.
"Yeah, the school's holding it to celebrate our first month back!" Sakari bounced on her feet. "It's going to be my first one since, well...I wasn't in the mood for them back when I was a kid." Also because they felt nervous about going to one, which her mom and dad understood.
"That's understandable. Fiona and I weren't really interested in them when we were kids, either. I think we only went to...two that Solaria held as annual events back in the day." Tina mused.
