IT WAS JULY 21ST, one day after the semester ended for the group. Their summer vacation had started, so they were mostly relaxing.
Sakari was glad to be done with the semester, but would miss the times she had in the classes. Math had gone pretty okay, same with the others, including Tigorian mythology. The final for that one was more difficult than it looked but they did fairly well; same for the other two.
Speaking of them, the brown-haired teen was resting on the couch, having the mythology book in their hand. They had turned the page to the next entity after Miki and Kairi - Hunu. His pronouns were he/him on the page, but it didn't last his types nor the story.
"Hey, Kiyo?" Sakari spoke, looking over at the said dog entity curled up in his bed.
Kiyo, who was in his dog form, looked up. He sounded slightly groggy. "What is it, lassie?"
"Well, I am looking at the stuff for the next entity we're finding. Number seventeen. But it doesn't show much here, nor does the silhouette."
"That's odd. We haven't had somethin' like that happen in a while." Kiyo yawned, deciding to get up. He stretched and then shook himself before turning into his human form. "Mind if I take a look?"
"No, not at all." Sakari handed it over to him, seeing the taller of the two looking through it.
He noticed something blurred next to Hunu's name and used his new upgraded powers to see if he could fix it. He didn't see Sakari's look of amazement at his glowing markings and the light from his hand.
Kiyo blinked in shock as the blur went away, revealing Hunu's surname. "Heavens tae Solaria, his surname is Kigo?"
Sakari shot up from the couch. "Kigo? Isn't that..."
"Wind's last name as well. I don't think she even knows she has a sibling!"
"Oh my god..." Sakari covered her mouth. "I think we need to tell her. This could be a lot."
"Nae kiddin'." Kiyo agreed and gestured for Sakari to follow him to the cave.
Sakari nodded, making sure to leave a note for her mom to let her know that they'll be back later.
As the door closed behind them, the teen looked over at their protector. "So, uh, how'd you get your powers back?" their tone was full of excitement. "I didn't know your markings could glow now, so that was awesome!"
Kiyo could see Sakari hopping a bit while talking and smiled, rubbing the back of his neck. "Well, I got them back a few days ago. Essence helped me out wit' them and my girlfriend, Shisetsu, helped wit' making sure they didn't backfire."
"Ooh okay! I'm so happy you got them back, though. Did you stay on Tigoris during that time?"
"I did, but had returned home tae let yer mother know that I would be a bit. I was glad to make it in time tae congratulate you on finishin' yer semester!" he ruffled her hair and Sakari pouted playfully, making him laugh. "Your mom was real proud as well, given how much you've changed and worked hard in yer classes."
Sakari nodded with a warm smile, remembering the hug that her mother had given her when she returned home. The teen was looking forward to the next semester, when she would be a second year. But that hasn't come yet, of course.
"And I'm proud of you as well, lassie."
Sakari hugged him, of which he returned it briefly. "Thank you."
"Nae problem. Anyways, let's get goin'."
And so they set off to the cave. There, they saw Kōri tending to Nariko, who looked like he had scraped his arm or something. But there didn't seem to be any of the entities around right now.
