*AN- So this story is pretty much a butterfly effect in a way the story is exactly the same all the way until the nighttime bench scene with Arthur and Tess. What if Elijah never interrupted them? How about a whole ass romance story? if you liked it please favorite and comment because that will only make me release new chapters faster*

It was quiet outside, so much quieter the now loud cafeteria was busy laughing at Arthurs despicable deed.

Arthur chuckled to himself while shaking his head, it's crazy how he almost never thinks about his past life anymore. As the days go by more and more he just feels like a twelve year old kid.

Well a Quadra element, two element deviant with a beast will so powerful that it should have a class of its own. But besides that he feels like a normal twelve year old kid. He stopped for a second and sensed her, he knew she was only around the corner. The reason he left was to go after her so why was he hesitating?

Was it because he hasn't seen her for so long? Was it because of what happened earlier? It frustrated him how much it frustrated him that Tess talked to him like that. He knew she was just doing her job as the student council but even if it was just for a moment she talked to him as if they didn't spend everyday for four years together.

Why... Did it just bother him so much?

Arthur knew the answer in the back of his head but would never let himself admit it. At least not yet.

Arthur took a deep breath and turned the corner to see Tess looking up at the star filled sky. A small smile crept onto his face. Why was he so worried it was still her.

The person who was truly closest to him. No matter how hard he tried to deny it or to find some reason for it not to be true she was that person. She knew almost everything about him. Nothing would take away from all their time spent together, the late night talks and giggles, training together under her grandfather. Growing up together...

And they didn't know it but grew old together too.

She truly was his best friend. He never had a best friend in his last life, a life filled with training and revenge had no time for friends.

No time to stop

No time to have emotions

No time to care about anything but who was the next enemy in his way

More people celebrated his death than mourned.

He had no time to be happy.

But here he was sitting next to his friend... with a smile on his face... It was a weird feeling the more he thought about it.

The two stayed quiet, looking straight ahead not daring to gaze at the other. Tension filled the air both minds ran wild at looking for the right words to say.

"I'm sor-" They said at the same time while crashing into each other's head.

"Ow ow ow ow ow ow" Tess mutters under breath. She looked up to Arthur who gave her a look that was asking if she was okay. She learned this look after so many long training sessions, or if she tripped and fell down when they were younger, or if she lost her favorite stuffed animal.

Looking up at she noticed how much taller he was than her. Now it was weird to look at but it somehow felt right to see him up there.

His warm smile vanished every worry she had in her mind.

She spent the day wondering what he thought of her, if she messed everything up, why she said that to him, how much she wished she could of taken back what she said to him, she also thought about quitting the student council so many times but she knew she couldn't even if she wanted to.
