Reconciliation

The following is not related to the canon whatsoever and this is only a small storyline I made with the concept of 'what would happen if Jake's original reason of joining was exposed to the music club'

"...I'm leaving the club"

Jake blurts, everyone reacted with shock aside from Hailey. Hailey seemed to be more disappointed "Wait- Jake!? Why!?" Milly exclaimed, Zander furrows his eyebrows

"Jake, its the day before the competition" Luke mentioned, Zander chimes in "This is a joke isn't it? This better be you dimwit" Jake sighed "You know I wish it was"

Hailey sighed "I was right" she muttered, everyone looks at the club president. She lets out a broken chuckle and looked up at Jake "All this.. you joining... it was all to get Daisy's attention, isn't it?"

Jake was about to object, but Hailey's assumption hit the nail on the chalkboard.
That was Jake's first intention when joining the club "...Jake? Is this true?" Sean asked

"...Hailey, where did you get that?" Jake asked, a hint of hurt in his voice "I overheard a past conversation you had with those friends of yours... i just kinda... thought you were trying to cover up to your friends so I... didn't say anything" Hailey explained, Zander mumbled something incoherent

Jake exhales, and looks away "Hailey isn't lying... isn't she?" Luke asked, putting a hand on his upset boyfriend's shoulder as an attempt to calm him down "...she isn't, but-"

"Jake." Hailey cuts him off, she gives a broken smile and spoke "I don't want to hear it. It's partially my fault, I should've figured that it was too good to believe that you didn't actually have a motive."

Hailey walks past Jake to leave the clubroom, she takes hold of the door and talks without looking at the blond "...the decision to leave it yours Jake, but if you change your mind- if me mattered to you more than just as a way to get Daisy's attention. You're more than allowed to stay, atleast... until the competition"

Hailey leaves the room, Jake wanted to run after her, but he's the last person that Hailey wants to talk to right now. Jake turned to the other club members, who all has equal disbelief and dissapointment

"...guys?" Jake nervously blurted, Milly breaks the silence "Is that really all we we're to you!? An outlet to get a girls attention!?" her voice broke at the last word, she was hurt, they all were

Jake wanted to defend himself, but he doesnt, he believes he didn't deserve to defend himself "Nothing to say eh? I was right from the start." Zander remarks, glaring at blond, but rather than the usual dislike or anger, there was visible hurt in his eyes

Milly shakily exhales, tears run down her face. Sean walks towards Milly and puts his hand on her shoulder, Milly pushes it away and instead hugs the taller one. Luke frowns at the expression his boyfriend has, the brunet looks at Jake

"Jake?" Sean started, Jake looks up "Please.. Get out." Sean said, his tone had a hint of hurt and anger that he had not heard from him before. The blond was taken aback by this, he looked at all the members "You heard him. Get out." Zander added, Jake sighed

He was no longer wanted in the room

"...I'm sorry... I really am... you guys deserve so much better... they we're right... I'm not cut out for this." Jake turns to the door, this statement felt odd to the club, because it seems like he wasn't talking about his crude friends.

"Wait Jake, 'they'?" Luke asked. Jake didn't know what to answer, all he heard was the repeated 'get out' in his head. He takes a sharp breath "It doesn't matter" "Jake. I'm not asking you this again. Who were you referring to?" Luke asked, mild worry in his tone despite him feeling disappointed
