Chapter 13: The Ambush

"I don't really like this plan, Miss Seri" Mr. Choi broke the silence on their drive. Seri was surprised seeing her usually quiet driver broke the silence in the car. She looked towards the front mirror and saw her trusty old driver was frowning. She smiled lightly.

"We have talked about this with Mr. Kim, Mr. Choi. He assured us that we would be completely safe in multiple scenarios" she said calmly, though she wouldn't deny that she was also antsy about the situation. But they had talked about the plan in length with Jeong Hyeok and Mr. Kim, and both had complete confidence in the plan. Especially Jeong Hyeok; she knew he wouldn't let her be part of this if he was not confident that she would be safe.

Mr. Choi nodded but she saw that he reached out to the stun gun he packed on himself. Seri also reached out for the stun gun Jeong Hyeok put on her purse. He told her it was only for 'just in case', because he hoped she would never have to use them. And that took her to the memory this morning when they concocted the plan.

~Earlier that day

Seri woke up with a slight pounding on her head and blinked to the faded t-shirt of Jeong Hyeok's. She smiled as she realized she had fallen asleep on his chest but quickly groaned when the pounding on her head didn't stop. This made him stirred from his sleep.

"Morning, beautiful" he croaked seeing Seri had woken up and Seri almost rolled her eyes. His sister-in-law was right, Ri Jeong Hyeok could be really cheesy when he was in love. But she smiled seeing the wide smile on his face, so she nuzzled even closer to his chest.

"Morning" she mumbled sleepily, closing her eyes in an attempt to calm the throbbing in her head. He seemed to notice this and gently caressed her head.

"Does it hurt?" he asked gently, "Do you want to take something for it?" and it got her raised her eyebrows.

Unlike her, Jeong Hyeok was never comfortable in taking medication unless it was totally necessary. It showed just how much he had adapted to her life and it warmed her more than his concern for her well-being. But then she remembered that he would have to go in a week time, and the ticking clock made something lurched in her heart.

This was something they had talked about in length and she knew talking about it again would only make him sad; therefore she just reached out to caressed his face and tried to ingrain every slopes and contours of his face into her fingers and memory. He seemed to pick up the sudden melancholy and responded in kind. Without words, he reached out and brought her face to him and kissed her gently.

She sighed at the first probe of his tongue but she accepted it wholeheartedly. After sometimes, she rolled over so he would be on top of her and she groaned over his delicious weight on her body. They kept on kissing until familiar heat raised up and they broke the kiss to look at each other intently.

"What had you done to me, Yoon Seri" he groaned as he put his temple on her forehead, "What should I do if I have to wake up and don't find you on my bed again?"

Seri laughed lightly and reached out to rake his hair. She touched the tips of their nose together and nuzzled it.

"Don't we reverse this conversation, somehow?" she said and he chuckled, "Usually I'm the one complaining and asking these questions, while you're the adult one and steered us to the logical plane"

She hooked her feet and gave cue to flip them over. Jeong Hyeok followed through and flipped their position so she was on top. She leaned down and caressed his face reverently.
