Chapter Thirty-Six

Steven's P.o.V.

"Mommy!"

Kisses happily welcomed Krishna with open arms. Tuwang-tuwa siyang yumakap sa Mommy niya pagkapasok sa bahay. Kisses just can't risk carrying Krishna dahil may kabigatan siyang bata.

"How's school?"

"It's great Mommy. Kumanta po kami saka nag-dance!"

"Really? Can you show us later after lunch?" Kisses asked still with a wide smile plastered on her face. Krishna happily agreed to her mother's request at hinila na ako papunta sa kusina.

"Ako na" I said as I take the plates from Kisses' hand. She looked at me with confusion but I just gave her a small smile then looked at her tummy.

"Umupo na lang kayo, ako nang bahala maghain. Like the old times?"

"Yeah, like the old times" With a small smile carved in her lips she agreed on me and sat beside Krishna. Krishna just kept talking about her activities habang ipinaghahain ko sila. Halata namang  tuwang-tuwang silang dalawa sa pagkukwentuhan kaya pinanuod ko na lang muna sila at nag-intay kung kailan nila ako papansinin.

"Daddy's finished setting the table na pala"

"Oo akala ko hindi niyo na ako papansinin eh" natatawa kong sagot kay Krishna. She just giggled back to me and jumped from her chair at kumalong sa akin.

"Na-carried away lang po kami Daddy! Why will I ignore you?" She asked me still with a big smile plastered on her face kaya automatic na napangiti na rin ako.

"Of course you won't, I know that" I kissed her cheeks after making her giggle more. My heart felt lighter as her giggles filled the whole room. She sounds so happy and it makes me happy too.

"Go back to your seat na, let's eat before the food starts to get cold" I said but she just pouted.

"Paano kakain Daddy mo kung kalong ka? Come here, tabi tayo dito" Kisses said but Krishna just kept on pouting on us kaya napailing na lang ako. Tumayo ako habang kalong ko siya at iniupo sa kanina niyang pwesto. Pagkatapos ay umupo ako sa tabi niya.

"Okay na?" She just nodded at me, hindi pa rin mawala-wala ang ngiti sa labi niya.

Sinandukan ko na sila ng pagkain at nagsimula na kaming magsalo sa tanghalian. Pagkatapos naming kumain binihisan muna ni Kisses si Krishna bago ulit sila bumaba sa sala.

"Daddy you said you'll tell me why you will not take me back to Daddy Angelo" nagkatinginan kami ni Kisses sa tanong na iyon ni Krishna. Kinandong ko siya at saka siya hinarap sa aming dalawa.

I breathed deeply before I started talking.

"Krishna tanda mo pa noong sinabi naming hindi ako 'yong Daddy mo?" I asked pero umiling lang siya sabay takip ng tenga niya.

"No, Krishna listen to Daddy first okay?" i said removing her hands from her ears but she just kept shaking her head.

"Why?"

"Sasabihin niyo na naman pong hindi kayo 'yong Daddy ko eh gusto ko nga po kayo lang Daddy ko" she said as tears start to well up on the corner of her eyes. I cupped her small face with my hands and gave her a smile.

"Daddy won't tell you that anymore. Remember I told you earlier that I won't leave you anymore right?" She just nodded. I wiped her tears before talking again.

"Krishna listen carefully okay? After listening you can ask questions, understand?"

I looked at Kisses before starting again, she just nodded at me. I took it as my cue to begin.
