Chapter 7

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you had said something other than what you had thought of and might've changed the outcome of a situation? Yes? Well, then you're the same as Chaeyoung here.

"G-go out?" She uttered, bewildered that those words even came out from her own mouth. All her decisions in life flashing before her. Maybe being honest with her feelings wasn't a good idea.

Don't get the blonde girl wrong, she does like the girl, almost a little too much actually, but isn't it a little bit too sudden to decide on something so quickly? Especially when your feelings are placed on the line. It's a little risky for the brunette to trust Chaeyoung so instantly, blindly giving her innocent heart to her.

Both of them can get hurt, and it'll take a while for them to get it fixed. Some don't even recover from it. Will they?

"Hol-hold on," Chaeyoung raised both of her hands in a stop motion. "Aren't you concerned at all?"

Hearing this, Jennie was a bit mushed. "Concerned? For what?" She raised a brow.

Chaeyoung clears her throat, regaining her composure. She explained calmly. "Your heart. These feelings we have for each other. Wouldn't it be risky to entrust me with your feelings so lightly like this? I mean, we haven't even-"

A burst of laughter erupted from Jennie and she just couldn't stop herself from holding it in after Chaeyoung's declaration of how important she must treasure her feelings. It was almost comical in a way, she thought.

"You silly chipmunk." The shorter one shakes her head, tittering away. On the other hand, the blonde girl was taken back from the nickname Jennie gave her, but she was willing to look over it for this time only since they were discussing something more valuable than these irrelevant nicknames.

Leisurely, Jennie eyed Chaeyoung, heart eyes and all, visible only for the blonde to see. She didn't care either way. She'd always been head over heels for the girl, and there was no denying the rush of adrenaline whenever Chaeyoung was around. These feelings she's guarded ever since the moment they started growing, blooming like beautiful flowers. She swore that they were reserved solely just for Chaeyoung and Chaeyoung alone.

She's decided from the very start. Though, it was quite adorable that Chaeyoung was thinking of her feelings first before her own. My did she like such a wholesome person, which further convinced her of what type of a person Chaeyoung truly is, even though she knew full well that the girl is too kind for her own good.

Calmly, Jennie gathered her thoughts and faced the blonde, slightly looking up. Her expression held a sort of determination, yet her features were soft indicating that she adored the blonde girl.

"Lightly you say? But Chaeyoung I'm not the only one entrusting my feelings here, you're also doing the same. Of course, I'd like you to take care of my heart to the best of your abilities as I will do the same because that's what people with mutual feelings towards each other do. And no, I'm not taking this lightly at all, Chaeyoung. I'm serious, I'm serious about us, and our growth together for the coming days that will come. I've only ever entrusted my feelings to you, you know? You're my very first love, so this is important to me and I hope it is to you too. It's not an everyday thing that the one you like likes you back just the same. I'd like to keep this moment of joy and cherish it deeply. Chaeyoung, I'm not telling you any lies when I confessed. Those were my true feelings, they came from the bottom of my heart with the intent of loving you respectfully. So, Chaeyoung, will you please accept my unwavering love? I'm sure to treat you the way you're supposed to be treated." With Jennie's kittenish smile and both hands reaching out to hold her cheeks. The blonde was put in a rather tempting situation.

After Jennie's lovely speech, Chaeyoung was in awe and couldn't even begin to process any words to defend herself. She wanted to refuse because love isn't exactly her type of thing, but Jennie being the beautiful being that she is had managed to squash Chaeyoung's rejection by a nonchalant smile she's always displayed in front of her.

And if that wasn't enough for Chaeyoung to cause panic in her heart, Jennie took her chances and slid her arms down, pulling the taller closer. She smushed her face against Chaeyoung's chest and settled herself there whilst peacefully breathing the blonde's chocolate-like scent.

"You smell good." The brunette uttered, pulling out just to see Chaeyoung's reaction. She grinned naughtily, "Do you mind if we share the same scent?"

Chaeyoung's lips quivered, fearing that she might mess up once she opens her mouth. So, to save herself she shakes her head.

The brunette caught on quickly, raising both her brows. "You don't? That's good to know."

An abrupt silence seeped in between the two, no one daring to speak. After a minute passed, Jennie sighs, almost in disappointment.

Annoyance emitting from her voice, she glares at the giant chipmunk staring cluelessly at her. "Well? Is it a yes or a no? I'm waiting."

"Yes or no?" Chaeyoung couldn't be more confused than she already is. "What are you-"

Jennie looked about mad and ready to burst out in rage from the oblivious blonde who kept testing her patience. She breaths in shakily and she then yells out her feelings.

"My confession! You adorable idiot! I just confessed, did I not!? I want to know your answer dummy!! Don't leave me hanging like that! You jerk with a beautiful face! A dense chipmunk who's overly cute! I don't even know what God gave you for me to be this attracted to you, but...ugh, why did I even like someone like you to begin with? Don't ignore my feelings you stupid chipmunk! I can't have you ignoring my confession like that...my heart wouldn't be ready." Jennie finally broke down in tears. She sobbed, her once frustrated voice turning gentle and vulnerable.

"I want to know your answer, Chae... Please, just tell me." Jennie started throwing light punches as she clung onto the latter. She wanted to insult the blonde, but she ended up being desperate for an answer. She's anticipated it, and she's bracing herself. Although, deep in her heart she wants the blonde to accept her feelings. And with Chaeyoung actually liking her back, overjoyed was an understatement to what she felt after that revelation.

"Please?" She pleads, losing her voice to say anymore. She only clutched onto what's left for her to grab. She held it tightly, not wanting to let go. She didn't want this sensation to disappear. This presence of Chaeyoung cradling her so openly in her arms. The comforting feeling of her favorite person. She wanted to dwell deeper into it, forever if possible.

Will you welcome them with rousing reception?
