Chapter 3

(Pov Jake )
"I can't believe you made her cry like that !" Sam yelled at me, I didn't bother giving an explanation, I couldn't believe that I did either. Julie was my childhood best friend, I cared for her, I turned to look at Mike.
"What happened that night at my house ?" I asked him.
"I told you what happened that night besides its getting late, I want you to walk me home " Ivy cut in , as she pulled me away.
"Just know nothing you think actually happened " Mike called out ,when I was a few steps away. What had I done ? I looked at Ivy but she was a step ahead ,her hair all over the place ,flying at me. But the picture ? The pictures she showed me they weren't photoshopped.
" Ivy " I said.
she slowed down looking at me confused.
"What is it ?"
"Where did you get those pictures ?"
"Some guy at the party took them " she replied, putting her head on my shoulder ,and wrapping herself around my arm. The party, I looked up at the sky, the party that was supposed to make everything right for me and Julie ,I confessed my love to her in the balcony ,she seemed rather happy about it at the moment but when I leaned in to kiss her she pushed me back and took off ...why? What's Mike got that I don't ?when did they even get together ? Why are they hiding their relationship from me ? I'm not hiding Ivy from them ,I asked myself , as I looked down at her
"You didn't mean what you said that night did you? " Julie's breaking voice echoed in my head . Of course I did ! .
"You want to come in ?" Ivy asked.
"No," I replied "sleep tight " I kissed her on her forehead and came home.
Alice and Kevin were in the kitchen so I guess Julie's probably home alone should I go talk to her ? ....Ask her ?she would probably lie about it .
"Are you hungry ?" Alice asked, I ignored her and came to my room was I too hard on Julie ? I turned off the light and hid behind the curtains ,trying to see what she was doing ,her light was out too ,there was no use.
She had stopped coming to school, I tried getting a lock on Ashley but apparently she wasn't coming either
" So why are you looking for a girl at school that lives two steps away from you ?" Justin asked. He had a point but Julie wouldn't talk to me, not after the way I've been treating her lately.
" she's leaving going back to live with her grandma " Ronald said.
"What makes you say that ?"
" Well after Kevin and Alice get married she doesn't really have much of a reason to stay here, plus she mentioned it herself last night " Ronald replied.
"You talked to her last night ?"
" she's my friend of course i did, I talk to her every night'
I laughed, trying to hide that I was desperate to know " so how is she?"
" upset .. her parents " he replied walking off I followed him.
"what?" I asked
"She misses her parents , and weren't you and Julie close ? back in the day. " he questioned.
" we were but I'm busy now, don't have time " he gave me a look that made me feel guilty.
It's been two years since her parents passed away she can't still be this upset about it, maybe that's just what she's telling people.
Her parents passed away on prom I remember that night like the back of my hand. Julie and I weren't gonna go because we both didn't have dates and we thought it was a dumb idea but everybody else was going , Alice suggested that we both go as each other's date at first we were like no it's weird but then Julie looked up with those sparkly brown eyes saying
"There isn't anything else to do, so why not ? "
We got ready in a hurry, we reached on time, we danced to the music, neither of us knew how to dance so we just jumped around like retards haha that night it was the first time I saw her like that, beautiful , free and nuts, at the end of the night I had fallen in love with my best friend I was just about to kiss her, when Kevin came out of nowhere and pulled her away.
The next day, I found out her parents had passed away in a car accident I met her several times when she was staying with her grandparents but only for a minute or two we couldn't have a real conversation. she wouldn't allow it, I'd be talking and she'd get up and leave.
I guess prom was the last time we were happy together. A few months ago when she came back I thought everything would go back to normal but apparently she and Mike have been together all this time and Mike knew how I felt about her so why did he get into a relationship with her in the first place?! My thoughts roared, As I wondered in class, I stared out of the window ,at the ripples being made. I hadn't noticed ,It had started raining.
