A few days later, I was walking toward my apartment after my last class when my phone buzzed. I took it out of my pocket to see that I had a text from Taehyung along with a picture of flowers.

Tae:  I don't know if I should tell you but Bella just received this from some guy.

I stared at the picture of the small bouquet. So, there was another guy in the picture. That was ridiculous. Who could even compare to me? I looked at the picture of the flowers again, and my mind immediately started racing. So, she wouldn't accept my ring, but she accepted flowers from another guy. I scoffed.

I marched into my apartment and searched up the number to a top-notch florist.

A few hours later I got the notification that my arrangement had been delivered. One hundred red roses had been sent to Bella. I sat back on my couch and smiled.

I was changing the channel on my TV when my phone rang

I was changing the channel on my TV when my phone rang. It was Taehyung.

"Cuz, the flowers barely fit on their table."

"Tell her that my love for her barely fits in my heart," I replied with a big smile. "Tell her that they are small and insignificant compared to my feelings for her."

There was a long silence.

"Tae?" I asked nervously. I sat up straight on my sofa. "What's wrong?"

"Um, I will call you later." He cut the call.

Almost immediately my phone rang again. It was Bella!

"My love," I said as a greeting.

"Seokjin, I can't believe it. What's the big idea with the flowers?"

"Big idea? I love you! That's the big idea," I replied. "I just wanted my girl to know it. Do you love the arrangement?"

"Well, the bees would like it. Anyways, what do you mean 'your girl'?"

"Stop it, darling," I said. "You know it's you. You're my girl, and I want you to know that I am always thinking about you."

"Seokjin."

"And I know that you love me."

"You can't keep giving me these outrageously expensive gifts so that I'll feel obligated to go back to you."

"Obligated?" I exclaimed. "That's not it at all. I'm not obligating you. I'm simply reminding you of what it's like to be with me. Red rubies and red roses are symbols of my never ending love and passion for you."

There was silence. Then, "I truly appreciate your sentiments. Believe me when I tell you that I have very strong feelings for you, but you're not listening to me."

I took a deep breath. "Look, Bella. No other guy can give you what I can. I promise that I will make you happy. I promise that I will shower you with everything at my disposal so that you know how much you mean to me. Anything you want. It's yours. Ask me for anything--the sky's the limit. I will give you whatever you want. Just name it."

"Are you serious?  After all we've been through, you think all I want is for you to keep giving me things? If that's what you think, then you don't know me at all. Goodbye."

"Wait, Bella!" Too late. She had cut the call. I didn't understand. Why was she being this way? What more could I do to show her how much I loved her? Maybe I needed to up the ante.
