Crystal's POV:
Least to say we spent most of the nights making out in the school library.
When morning came, Ricardo said: "I'd keep an eye out on bionda."
I stared at him.
"Again, I'm not interested in her. I'm saying, as her friend, keep an eye out for her."
I stared at him.
Ricardo stands in front of me, fully dressed in his uniform. "What am I going to do with you?" He grabs my cheek and pulls it.
I slapped it off, "I don't know. Make me your ex?"
He chuckles, "Nice try, but you're not going to get away from me that easily." He lowered himself for a kiss, but instead of getting my lips, he got my cheek.
When Ricardo walked towards the door, I asked: "You think there's something wrong with Hailey?"
He grabbed an apple from the counter, "You're her friend. You should know. Find out what may or may not be wrong."
I groaned, "Why can't you just tell me what's wrong?"
He bites the apple, "Then, you wouldn't learn anything."
"Ugh!"
"See you in a bit." He left.
Of course, I noticed something was wrong with Hailey. We all do. I assumed it was the pressure of an elitist school, but Ricardo makes it sound like something else is going on.
During lunch, I began my investigation, mostly because I was bored.
I caught sight of Hailey. "Hey!" I rushed towards her, "Ready for lunch?"
Typically, I don't eat lunch in the cafeteria since I'd go off campus with Ricardo, but today looks like a day when I should.
"Yes!" She grabbed my arm, and off we went.
In the cafeteria, Hailey yelled: "Hi, Paisley!"
Who the fuck is Paisley?
Paisley smiled tightly, "Hi."
"Crystal. You remember Paisley, right?" Hailey asked.
"No."
She tilted towards me, "She was the one who called the ambulance for me when I was sick."
I think I remember someone like that. "So you're the one who saved my HayHay's life. Good. I approve."
I can't say I disapproved of her because she got ugly shoes. She's basically saved Hailey's life.
"Save your life?" Josh intervened. "What are you guys talking about?"
"You know-" Crystal said, "when Hailey passed out."
"Passed out?" His eyes went towards me, "What's this about you passing out?"
The idiot still doesn't know?
I guess he doesn't hover around her as much as I thought he would.
"It's nothing," she said. "Let's go get lunch. I'm hungry."
I smell something brewing, and it's not the questionable pizza.
"Crystal. Take everyone to the lunch table."
Did he just demand something from me?
"Excuse you?"
Josh ground his molars, "Crystal. Please."
Oh, he looks mad.
"Fine. Come on, everyone."
I didn't want to stay since Josh stole Hailey, but I had to, just in case they returned. My face grimaced at the lunch served. I grabbed what was slightly appetizing and went to a table. The rest of the people followed me.
