Crystal's POV:
I put on my jacket.
"You're really going to interview friends for biond- Hailey?" Ricardo asks.
"It's not like an interview," I clarified. It's more like I have to make sure they're up to my standard. Well, the standard for friends for Hailey." I smiled, "You want to come? We can make it into another coffee date, not a date."
"No. I'm good."
I look at him.
"I mean, wouldn't it be suspicious if we showed up together?" His voice faded when I squinted my eyes. Or you can go inside first, and then I'll hop in after you?"
I smiled, "If you insist."
He nodded, "Right. If I insist." He got off the bed and grabbed his jacket.
I help him put on his jacket and kiss his cheek. "Let's go!" I dragged Ricardo into the hallway. While we were in the elevator, I hugged Ricardo tightly, and he did the same.
When the elevator dings, he pushes me away.
My butt hit and bounced on the ground, "Wh-"
"Oh, hey." Josh looked down. "Why are you down there?" He looked at Ricardo. "Why are you on this floor?"
"He pushed me," I whined.
Ricardo rolled his eyes, "If you look where you're walking, you'll see someone other than yourself."
I got up and into his face, "Don't start with me, Spaghetti."
He chuckles cutely.
"Why you-" cute boyfriend of mine.
"Crystal," Josh said. "No more fights, remember?"
"He started it," I grumbled. Josh got in. It felt a bit awkward with the three of us.
"Were you coming to see me?" I asked.
"Oh yeah." He glances at Ricardo, "I'll tell you later."
"Tell me now," I said. "You know I hate waiting."
He sighs, "You know about my situation at home?"
The one where your daddy has a bastard child?
"I'm aware."
Ricardo knows, too.
He's my boyfriend.
I had to tell him.
"She's coming for the event."
I chuckle, "Seriously? Oh, this is going to be fun."
"And I need you to back off."
I twinkle my nose, "Depending on my mood, I might."
"I'm serious, no games. It's important to my mom."
I sighed, "You are no fun." I grin, "And what's in it for me?"
"Seriously?"
"You know me. I always got to get a little bit of something."
"Ain't that true," Ricardo grumbled.
He's going to get a bit of something later, too - my fist.
When we looked at him, he cleared his throat.
"What do you want?" Josh asked.
I twirl in place, "I don't know. Maybe-" I tap my finger against my lips. When the elevator door opened, Ricardo left. Josh and I walked out together. "Oh! If I were to get a boyfriend, you cannot complain who."
