The CEO is my roommate [BL]

Chapter 8 : Joshua's interrogation time.

Third person point of view

It hadn't been too many days and both were doing fine. Joshua thought that it wasn't all that difficult to live with a roommate. After all he hasn't lived with one for a few years now. He spent most of the time at home in his room before. But now he spent it more in the living room, little by little; even if it was them just watching the television silently. They do speak a little and it was always Joshua trying to make Elijah spill the tea which wasn't very successful. 

He asked him a few questions but never got any proper answers. Their conversations went from a few words or just yes or no to long lines. But he never stopped and tried; bit by bit. " What do you like to do ? " Joshua asked turning to Elijah. Elijah pointed at himself. " Me ? " Joshua gave a bored look. " No. You see that actress there ? " 

Elijah glanced and turned to Joshua again. " I was asking her ". Joshua smiled a little too wide to be genuine. Elijah was confused and scratched his head. Joshua wanted to smack Elijah wondering what even runs in his brain. He snarled at him. " I am not crazy to a point of speaking to myself ". Elijah nodded and asked. " But you do know you are to an extent ? " 

Joshua gave him a blank face. " Yes. I do ". Elijah nodded; impressed by Joshua's answer. Joshua face palmed. " But really why will I ask myself ? Or is there anyone else beside us ? Of course I am asking you ". Elijah made an 'oh' understanding it was for him and smiled. Joshua gasped. " Jerk. You were dodging and trying to divert the topic to make me forget the question on purpose. Hehe. But you can't escape from me. Now answer  ". Elijah sat up properly. 

" I almost succeeded ". He smiled. " As for the answer you want I am not sure. You tell me. What should I do ? " Joshua's eyes went wide. " Why are you asking me ? You should know what you like and take that path ". " True but I don't have anything like that ". " Then go take care of your father's business ". Elijah turned to face Joshua. " You think it's a good idea ? " " Of course ! Which father wouldn't be happy to give his business to his son and happily retire ? Unless you are a jerk who will bring down his business, there will be no problem with you taking over right ? " 

Elijah nodded like he was considering it. " I will think of it ". " Good enough. Are you really not mafia ? Or is that what your father does, so you don't want to take after him ? " Elijah laughed at Joshua's words. " You seriously wish for me to be mafia or something ? And you should definitely not think in a little too fictional way ". Joshua rolled his eyes. " I didn't mean it that way ". " Then ? " " You just seem like someone with that kind of a background ". " Since you keep saying it so many times, in case I am. What are you going to do ? " 

" What would I do ? " Joshua touched his chin. " Try changing you maybe. To take you on a good path ". Joshua smiled. Elijah nodded. " Impressive. But are you not scared ? " " Scared of ? " " That I might do some harm to you or that I might have some weapon with me ? A lot of other things too ". 

" Maybe, maybe not. I think you can be intimidating if you are angry. But, you surely have no weapons. That I know. You have a purpose for coming here, that will definitely have an effect if you want to do something to me or not. And also if you ask me I would say you are not going to harm me. You would've already done so if you wanted to ". Joshua said confidently. 

" What makes you so confident ? " " Just....my gut feeling ". He raised his chin with pride. " Nice ". " Why don't you want to work ? " " Don't get back at it again ". Elijah complained. Joshua wouldn't let go though. " I mean, there should be a reason ". " Not having a reason is also a reason ". Joshua opened his mouth to counter, but closed it again. " Fine. You win ". " Why are you so desperate to make me work ? " " Just in case you won't join a gang for real ". 

Joshua said jokingly. " I should try it though. Seems fun ". Elijah said in a serious tone. Joshua raised an eyebrow. " No. You wouldn't ". " You know what. You know me for only a few days maybe. But you speak like you've known me for a long time ". " I know that I don't know a lot about you. But I've observed you for more than enough time. I can guess the kind of person you are ". " So what did you analyse about me ? " 

" I am not sure, but you can say they are my guesses. I don't know how long it has been since you've come here, but you look like someone who didn't get adjusted to the timeline yet. Your system still has to get used to the place ". Elijah just nodded. Joshua thought that he might be right, so he continued. " You are a lazy person, but not in work. You don't slack off even a bit. Moreover you like to order people around. Isn't it ? " 

Elijah nodded again. " Also you just told me you will think of it. The chances are really high that you won't do it ". Elijah chuckled. " Why so ? " " You are just that kind of person. No particular reason. Something more....." Joshua scratched his chin observing the person beside him. " You are the most mysterious person I ever met ". Elijah chuckled. " That, I am sure it is the truth ". " I guess I can tell more about you in a few more days ". " How did you say all these ? " 

" I am not sure too. I tend to observe people around me. I try knowing what they are and in that process I guess it turned into a skill ". " You are good ". " Thank you ". They sat for a while. Joshua got up and yawned.  " Good night ". He gave a small smile to Elijah. Elijah nodded and replied. " Good night ". Joshua was the first one to go back to his room. He fell asleep pretty quickly. After a few minutes even Elijah went back to his room to sleep.
