Chapter 34 : Weak little heart.

Third person point of view

Joshua put a hand on his chest and moved aside. He stood there for a while. Elijah didn't notice his presence yet so it was fine. He coughed lightly trying not to gain Elijah's attention. What did he just see ? He patted his cheeks to get his head straight and went to the kitchen in slow soundless steps. This time he choked on his saliva. 

On his first try of entering the kitchen, he only saw Elijah's shirtless back so it was fine, but now he saw Elijah standing shirtless mixing some batter with a whisk. Joshua blinked continuously. He could see how good Elijah's body was. He wanted to cry. Why was the world playing such cruel tricks on him ? 

He walked in more into the kitchen and stood on the other side of counter. And that was when Elijah noticed his presence. " Oh hey ". Joshua only gave a small stiff smile. He sat on the chair and saw a lot of things placed on the counter. Joshua cleared his throat before speaking. " W-what are you doing ? " 

" I saw this recipe and wanted to try it ". Joshua nodded. His eyes couldn't stay on one place. He kept peeking and looking away. Elijah continued to mix the ingredients totally oblivious. Joshua stood there awkwardly checking out Elijah; how his hands flexed every time he moved them and how hard his upper body muscles are. 

He looked away blinking and wiped the sweat on his forehead. He looked up to Elijah's face this time; his long lashes, prominent nose and pink lips which always looked soft. He licked his lips subconsciously. He shook his head. " What kind of drug did I take ? " He said to himself and looked away. Elijah finished mixing it and put it on the counter and took a deep breath. 

Joshua noticed the sweat on Elijah's body. He took out a few tissues and stood up. " Come here ". He went to the other side and wiped the sweat off Elijah's face. His hands were almost trembling and he felt nervous. The hormones rushing through his body made him shiver a little. He wouldn't mind wiping it off his body too, but he would look too perverted. 

He threw the tissues away and sat back again. Luckily Elijah didn't question his actions. Joshua felt relieved. " Why are you going around shirtless ? " Joshua asked pointing at Elijah. Elijah looked down at his body. " I wore a shirt, but it was a dark color and I got flour all over it by mistake while mixing. So I removed it ". Joshua nodded. 

Elijah looked down at the batter he mixed and dipped his index finger. He licked his finger tasting it. Joshua felt like everything around stopped for a moment. He just stared dumbfounded. It was like he couldn't remove his eyes off of Elijah's lips and the scene kept playing in a loop in his mind. 

Oh no ! His innocent eyes. He really wanted to hit his head, but stopped because it would arise questions from Elijah. He took silent long deep breaths. " Why is it like this ? " Joshua came out of the daze and saw Elijah who was looking around. " What happened ? " Joshua asked looking at Elijah. Elijah dipped his ring finger this time and brought it in front of Joshua. 

" Taste this once ". Joshua couldn't register what was happening. " Huh? " " Taste it ". Joshua moved forward and ate the batter off of Elijah's finger. " How is it ? " Elijah asked waiting for Joshua's reply. Joshua tried to get his brain to work. It was like all of his brain cells were fried and not of use anymore.  

These shocks have made his brain slow. He wasn't sure of what to even say. " Umm... I don't know. I mean it feels fine to me. You need to know what you forgot to put in it. Also I am not that good of a cook, so I don't know much to begin with ". Elijah nodded and turned around. Joshua put his hand on his chest. It was beating way too hard. 

He turned to look at Elijah who according to Joshua was very calm about all of this. But was he ? Elijah took a deep breath as soon as he turned around. His heart was racing rapidly. The moment Joshua's lips touched his finger he felt a shiver run down his spine. He was just instinctive. He definitely wouldn't have done it if he knew it was this harmful to his heart. 

He cleared his thoughts and thought of what might've gone wrong. He turned around and saw Joshua's face which was slightly red than before. " Found it ? " Joshua asked when he saw Elijah who turned around. Elijah shook his head. He started counting the ingredients that he has to put into it and then it struck him. 

" Got it ". Elijah said turning to find it. " What is it ? " " Salt ". Joshua rolled his eyes. " How can I forget that ? " Elijah shook his head like he was wronging himself and put the amount of salt required. He mixed it well again and put it aside. He started clearing the counter. Joshua also helped him and he was done sooner. 

" I will change and be back ". Elijah informed and walked to his room. Joshua sat on the couch and he wondered if Elijah might be taking a shower. He slapped his cheeks. " No no no no no no no ". He started playing a game to distract himself. Elijah came out of his room and sat on the couch. " How was your day ? " Joshua looked up from his phone. 

Now that Elijah asked him, he remembered his encounter with Noah. " Something happened ". Elijah tilted his head. " What is it ? " Joshua noticed that Elijah was still in the same pant. That means he only put on a new shirt. He might've wiped away the sweat and put it on. Joshua cleared his throat and told him about his conversation with Noah. 

" Is that guy dumb ? " Elijah asked after Joshua was done. Joshua chuckled. " Believe me. I asked myself the same question ". Elijah scoffed. " I didn't see him but you saw him while speaking. Did it look odd in any way ? " Joshua tried to remember. " No, not at all ". " Then he just said all of that ? " Elijah couldn't just believe it.

" I mean it isn't particularly confidential and I am part of the company, so I don't think there should be a problem with telling me, but I didn't expect it to be that easy. Also I don't think he is acting. He was really like that. But in case if he did act, then he is a real professional. Might as well give him an Oscar ". 

Joshua chuckled. Elijah nodded. " So based on what you saw, you think he was not acting ? " Joshua nodded. " I am sure that he wasn't acting ". Elijah nodded because he trusted Joshua's instincts.

My BR is devastated over what Joshua is thinking. 🤣🤣 My BR was like he is so innocent, what is happening ? 😂 I said that maybe Joshua isn't all that innocent. 👀 Well it is true though. 🤣

And these few chapters, by which I mean, the last week's and the coming few weeks' are like my favorite chapters. I love this whole sequence of events that happened, are happening and will happen. I absolutely do. Even my BR actually. Both of use just love~~~ them. 😂So please do look forward to them. 🤩🤗

I am sorry for the late upload. I wasn't home and my BR didn't read. Both of us forgot about it. 🙈 And by the time I did remember it was late, so I am doing it now. Please do forgive us~~ I will try to do it on time without missing. My sibling is mad at me. 😂 But yeah I did it now anyway, didn't I ? Sooooo yeah that's that. Hope you enjoyed them.
