Chapter 25 : Pancakes and hoodies.

Third person point of view

Joshua arrived home to see Elijah watching something intensely. He wondered what it might be and when he saw the television, it was a cooking show. He couldn't help but think if Elijah really liked to cook that much. He was concentrating like he has to take an examination regarding it after the show was over. 

Joshua noticed the cup on the table and it looked the owner forgot about it and didn't as much as touch it. Did he forget to drink it while watching television ? The thought definitely shocked Joshua. " Your coffee ". Elijah glanced at the cup. " I wanted to drink a cold coffee so I let it be ". Joshua's jaw dropped to the floor. He was surprised he didn't start swearing yet and say some colorful words. 

He opened his mouth trying to say something. He closed it and opened again. " A lot of people you've met would've asked you if you were a human being right ? " Elijah turned to Joshua. " How do you know ? " Joshua scoffed, out of words. " Of course they would. Drink it now. It will taste bad if you leave it for too long. God knows how many living and non living organisms are diving in it ". 

Joshua observed as Elijah finished the cup very quick. Of course he would, who knows how long it has been there like that. Joshua shook his head and turned to the television. They were making some delicious desserts. He turned to Elijah. " You can cook all those ? " Elijah didn't even look at him while answering. " I can try if I know the recipe ". " Really ? Will you do it sometime ? " 

" These ? " " Not really, anything delicious will do ". Elijah nodded. " Really ? " Joshua was surprised that Elijah actually agreed to do it so easily. Looked like he really loved cooking. Not that he wasn't happy that Elijah agreed, but he was mentally prepared, to have a round of debate with some or the other illogical logic to convince Elijah. 

Now his job was done faster than he expected, so he was happy. " Why are you looking at me like that ? " Elijah asked when he noticed Joshua's gaze. " Why did you agree so easily ? " " Is it a bad thing ? " " Not that it is bad. It is surprising. So you really like cooking ". Elijah stared at Joshua for a few seconds before answering. " Yeah, I do. I like it ". Joshua smiled and turned to the television.

The next morning, Joshua could smell a sweet aroma when he was walking to the kitchen. " What are you doing ? It smells so good ".  " Choco-chip pancakes ". Elijah answered without turning around. " Wow ". Elijah put a plate with pancakes for Joshua. " Taste them. The syrup is there ". Joshua picked up the small jar and poured some on the pancakes. 

When he took a bite, it melted in his mouth. It was so tasty he closed his eyes savoring the taste. " They are so good ". Elijah laughed. " I can feel it from your voice ". " Don't tease me. It is really, really yummy ". " Fine. It is ". Elijah flipped a few more for Joshua and put them on the table. He sat on the chair observing Joshua as he continued to eat. " You won't eat ? " " You know I don't ". " Why so ? At least taste these ? " " It is fine. You have them ". 

" No. Just a bite. Say ah ". Joshua picked up to feed Elijah who reluctantly opened his mouth to eat it. He nodded. It did come out well. Joshua stopped for a second, but recovered quickly. " See. You still don't want to have ? " Elijah shook his head. Joshua finished and put the plates in the wash basin. 

" Save a few for later. They are really good. I want to have them when I come back home ". " Sure ". " I will do them when you want ". " Why bother yourself twice ? Do it while you are at it and put them in a container. I won't mind it ". " Really ? " " Did I not suggest you to do it ? Why do you think so much ? " Elijah nodded. " Fine ". Joshua grinned. " Thank you ". 

Joshua checked the time and he had to leave. " I need to get going. Bye. See you ". " Bye ". Joshua walked out to go to work. He took a taxi and went to the office. He quickly walked in to the building. When he was waiting for the elevator, he saw a person stand beside him. It was Alex. Joshua greeted him. He wasn't sure if he can enter the elevator along with Alex. When the doors opened he hesitated a little. " You aren't coming ? " 

Alex asked looking at Joshua. Joshua nodded and entered feeling a little awkward. He heard Alex's phone ringing. Alex checked the number and hesitated. But he picked up at the end. " Hello ". Joshua couldn't hear the words from the other side. " I was busy with work. So I couldn't come ". He could sense that Alex was nervous and started sweating more. " No, no. I will come by this evening. Don't do anything ". 

Joshua could guess the tension between Alex and the person on the other side. He couldn't help but wonder what might be the reason behind Alex's reaction. It was not normal. Alex hung up and the doors opened. Alex walked out and Joshua waited to go to his floor. He was still thinking about it. When he walked out he decided to put it aside and get to work. He decided to tell and ask what Elijah would think about it.

Joshua finished work on time. He picked up his bag and walked out of the building. He walked to the nearby bus stop and waited for a few minutes. The bus arrived and he got in it. He walked to the back and sat there. When his stop came he got down and walked towards the apartment. He took the elevator and went to their floor. He walked towards their house.

He opened the door and stood there for a second. He burst out laughing as soon as he closed the door and walked into the house. He was still laughing when he sat on the couch. He tried to stifle his laughter but he kept wheezing. He saw Elijah sitting on the couch in a hoodie with rabbit ears to the hood. " This is really comfy ". " Did I even say anything ? " Joshua said still trying not to laugh. " It is cute nonetheless ". Joshua smiled looking at Elijah. Elijah removed the hood and thanked him.

Elijah never fails to amaze me. 😂 He is cool though. Got to agree on that. 

The hoodie would be so cute. 😍 And Elijah is cute too. But I want to see Joshua in it more than Elijah. 😂
