Chapter 11 : The coffee syndrome.

Third person point of view

The next morning, when Joshua entered the kitchen, he found Elijah already busy cooking. He squinted at Elijah's back feeling something was definitely strange. He sat on the chair and propped his chin up and waited for Elijah to finish cooking. He sat properly when he saw Elijah turn around with a plate. Elijah served the food hot and savory. 

He sat on the chair with a cup in his hand. " What is up with you? " Joshua asked looking up from the plate in front of him. Elijah looked at Joshua not knowing what he was referring to. Joshua twirled the spoon in his hand like he was trying to find the right word to use and he finally said it. " You look.....fresh ". Joshua said half hesitantly. " You finished taking a shower ? " 

Elijah nodded and took another sip. " You want some coffee ? " Joshua shook his head. " You don't like it ? " " I just don't prefer it ". Elijah nodded and continued drinking his coffee and Joshua was eating his breakfast. " You didn't sleep well ? " Joshua asked looking through his lashes. " There are a lot of times when you actually state things more than asking them ". 

Elijah didn't look up and continued drinking as soon as he finished his sentence. " Oh, so it is true ". Joshua concluded even when didn't receive an answer. Elijah let out a breath. " I drink coffee sometimes ". " And that sometimes is when you are stressed, no proper sleep or something on your mind ". Elijah stared at Joshua without saying anything. 

" True right ? " Joshua peeked at him and looked down to the plate again. Elijah sighed and nodded. Joshua looked up properly this time. " See. You still don't want to share it ? " He asked hopefully. Elijah shook his head. " Hmmm.... whatever you say ". One of the life lessons Joshua learnt in his time of living with Elijah was that; he cannot get him to say something unless he says it willingly. So he knew to let go. 

Joshua quickly finished his breakfast and left the kitchen. " I am leaving. Don't drink too much coffee, it is not good for your health. Not that you don't know, but if you drink too much you will not be able to sleep. Bye. See you ". Joshua closed the door behind him and left. Elijah sat on the couch and indeed it made him lose sleep. He knew it too, but couldn't help but drink it. It was his stress reliever after all. 

He couldn't help but wonder about how Joshua is good at calculating a person so easily. Elijah thought if it will it be helpful for him ? He wanted to know what he can make out of this guy. It would be a lie if he said he has no purpose on choosing Joshua, but he was not sure if his choice is right. He still needed to confirm it. So he decided to wait for a while before he could implement his own strategies. 

He took his laptop and checked his mail. He found another report. He ducked his head. He looked up and started looking through it. He ordered the food during lunch and before he could finish it he found one more mail. He wondered if they are willing to kill him. He decided he was not going to do it. He called up Nicholas. 

Nicholas picked up looking at his laptop and responded. " Hello ". " I forwarded a mail, check it and look for any mistakes. If it is good, just reply to it ". Elijah hung up. Nicholas stared at his phone and huffed. He was having enough things to do and now one more added to it. He shook his head and checked the mail. 

Elijah closed his laptop and slept on the couch. He just closed his eyes, but didn't fall asleep. He sat up after a while and switched on the television. He remembered when Joshua asked him if he liked to watch it so much. In fact, he didn't really like it, but he was always busy and didn't have much time. Now that he got time for himself, he wanted to spend it however he liked to. So he just wanted to watch it, since he got time. 

He smiled to himself. If Joshua knew it, he would definitely tell him some theory again. He didn't say it before because it would be too complicated and he told he was jobless, so it might not be a good step to say it. In the end, he just went along with what Joshua said. He just wasted time till Joshua came back. Joshua entered the house and sat on the couch. 

" You are back at watching it ? " Elijah didn't say anything. " You are definitely paying the electricity bill this month. All of it ". Elijah laughed and turned to Joshua. " Sure. I will ". Joshua shook his head smiling. " How was your day ? " Elijah turned to Joshua. It was Elijah's question, but it was Joshua asking it this time. " What will happen with someone who sits at home all day ? " 

Joshua pouted thinking. " Not really. Just because you are at home, doesn't mean nothing can happen. You could've just laid around and that might make you happy. You might've watched something and found it really interesting or funny. You could've done some work which relieved your stress. Or even better you could just sit still whole day and see after how long did your body go numb. You might've learnt a new thing even if you are just sitting ". 

Elijah chuckled. " So what did you do out of all of these ? " Elijah thought for a while. " I watched some show and then roamed around the house and slept for a while ". " Nice ". " What show did you watch ? " " It was some game show, with celebrities ". " Oh, good ". Elijah nodded. " See, you had a nice time. Don't think so much~~ " Joshua looked ahead and continued to speak. " You know there is thing ". Elijah turned to Joshua. " They said it is difficult to find a needle from a hay stack but not impossible. So if you want to find a solution you will definitely don't worry ". 

Elijah stared at Joshua. Joshua turned to Elijah but didn't know how to decipher the emotion Elijah's eyes held. He nodded at the end and Joshua nodded in return. They both smiled. " So, don't stress over it. It is true that you might not be able to stop thinking, but that will only heat up your brain and you will lose the only few brain cells you have. You won't find a solution. So wait for a while and look into it again. You will definitely find a solution ". Joshua smiled wider. " Thank you ". Elijah smiled too.

I don't know if the title has a meaning. I didn't mean it that way though. It is random and I liked it. And it is funny in a way. 😂

I guess there is a lot of Elijah this time. Nice.

Elijah : Of course it will be.

Author : (blinks once) Did I ask you ?

BR : (opens mouth to say something but decides against it and sips coffee in the corner) 

😂 I kind of miss writing mini theater. I will try to come up with more if I can.

I started my classes and my schedule is busy now. But I will try my best to keep the updates regular as much as possible. Have a nice time and stay safe. 

My BR liked the mini theater a lot; saying it is so like the Elijah, so like me and my BR too. 😂😂

And my BR agreed with the life lesson. 😂 Also really liked Joshua's advice and that it was really needed. Well I agree too. True indeed.
