Chapter 41 : The misfire.

Third person point of view

Joshua looked up through his half lidded eyes. " This is not nice ". He said with a small pout gesturing to Alex's coat. " What happened ? " " It is rough. Hurts my cheeks ". Joshua was acting cute rubbing his cheek lightly. " Want me to remove it ? " Alex asked and Joshua didn't expect this fast result. He nodded. " Let me help you ". 

He removed the coat and put it on his side beside him. He went back to resting on Alex's shoulder giving a smile. Alex held him tighter glancing down at Joshua's face. Joshua moved closer and continued drinking. He was almost getting drunk. He started feeling tipsy and his brain wasn't at its best. 

He slowly slid his hand into Alex's coat which was beside him and took out the phone. He put it in his front pocket and let out a sigh. He looked at Alex and other two who didn't notice anything. He gulped down all that was in his glass and glanced at Nicholas giving him a light nod. Joshua turned to Alex pulling at his sleeve. " I need to go to the washroom ". 

Alex nodded. " Come back soon ". Joshua nodded and bit his lip. " Sure ". He got up and saw that Nicholas was not there. He left the place too. He wasn't able to walk that easily. He was drunk after all. He put on a mask and slowly made his way to the washroom. He was hoping for nothing to go wrong, but as a just in case measure he decided to cover his face. 

He saw Nicholas waiting near the washroom. He gave the phone to Nicholas and he swiped it open. They need to crack the password for access. " What can it be ? " Nicholas asked looking at Joshua. " How about his birthday ? " They tried all combinations using the numbers. " It isn't working ". Joshua turned to his side and saw Alex who was walking in their direction. 

Joshua panicked and turned to Nicholas with wide eyes. Nicholas quickly moved forward blocking Joshua's face. Alex walked past them and into the bathroom which was a few steps away from where they were. Nicholas let out a huff and moved away glancing in the direction of the bathroom. 

" What do we do ? We need to leave before he comes and put the phone back in it's place without getting caught ". Joshua held his forehead and tried thinking. " Then let's try his children's birthdays ". " You know them ? " Joshua told them and it was true. It was Alex's son's birthday. 

" It finally opened ". Joshua stood leaning against the wall. He was drunk and started feeling dizzy. He shook his head which made it worse. But he held onto the wall and steadied himself. " How did you know all this ? " Nicholas asked while still working on the phone. " It is in the file you gave me ". " You memorized it all ? " Nicholas was shocked when Joshua nodded. 

They were busy trying to work on the phone and didn't see Alex who walked out. Alex who didn't find Joshua came out immediately. He looked around and recognized Joshua's dress. He confirmed that it was the same guy and turned to them for a clear view. When he looked at their hands, he saw his phone and his face turned dark. 

" What are you doing ?! " Alex shouted as he approached them. " RUN ! " Nicholas and Joshua started to run away. Lucky enough they both had their faces covered. " STOP ! " Alex ran after them. They were running and Joshua felt like he couldn't take it anymore. Alex has bumped into someone who dropped his drink all over Alex. For a moment he was distracted. 

Joshua's mind wasn't coordinating well because he was drunk. They reached a corridor with two ways. " You take the left and I will go this way ". Nicholas said showing his hand towards the side way. Joshua nodded. He turned around the corner and felt a hand pull him. He was pinned to the wall and his mask was removed. 

Joshua was shocked and didn't even say anything due to the sudden attack. A trench coat was draped around him. Joshua finally looked up but his vision wasn't clear. He closed his eyes and opened them again to meet fierce eyes glaring heatedly at him. " Elijah. What- " Joshua heard footsteps and his eyes averted to the side. 

He was about to runaway but Elijah pinned him to the wall with his body and smashed his lips on Joshua's. The kiss was rough and hungry making his mind clouded than it already was. Joshua gasped at the impact and Elijah entered his tongue. Joshua let out a low moan, putting his hands on Elijah's shoulders for support. 

The little energy left in his body was all being sucked out. If not for the body pressing against his to the wall, he would've fallen by now. He closed his eyes and his hands dropped to his sides with no energy. The grip on his hips was tight; not painfully, but protectively. The hot tongue was exploring his mouth and kissing him like he would die if he didn't kiss him at that moment. 

Alex came and glanced at this sight. He immediately looked away and walked straight. Elijah observed Alex leave from the corner of his eyes and pulled away when Alex left. Joshua was breathing heavily trying to catch his breath. Elijah's breathing was raged too. He was looking at Joshua who didn't even meet his eyes. 

" Let's get you home ". Joshua nodded and he held onto Elijah as he felt his legs turn into jelly. Elijah held Joshua who was trying to stand properly. " Wait ". Elijah bent down and picked up Joshua princess style. Joshua put his hands around Elijah's neck as he continued to carry him. He was still not looking up at Elijah's face. 

On the other side, Alex walked and saw Nicholas in the corridor at a distance. " You ". Nicholas turned around. He took out the phone. " Catch ". He threw the phone in the air and Alex caught it. Nicholas immediately slipped away without even leaving a trace behind. " What is this ? " Alex checked his phone but he didn't find anything wrong. 

He called his assistant to check with the money in his accounts and other important stuff. He found nothing wrong. He wondered what might've happened. He thought of the chances of them not being able to even open the lock and felt relieved. He decided to push all these aside and went back to the bar.

BR : (turns to Elijah) Finally.

Elijah  : (smiles)

BR : Don't think I am forgiving you. I wonder if you will still be the same once you wake up.

Elijah : (looks away scratching head)

BR : (ready to hit Elijah)

Author : There we go again. (gets ready to tackle BR)

😂 Anyways, Elijah is already back. That is enough. 😌

Well my BR is also actually happy and relieved. 😂 We both are like die-hard fans when it comes to Elijah and cheering like when people see their favorite super hero's intro. 😂😂

My BR had a freeze . jpg moment and then accused me saying I am a criminal 👉🏻👈🏻 because of the butterflies from this chapter 😂🤣
