Chapter 61 : Joshua's restaurant is open tonight !

Third person point of view

Joshua rolled onto his side and opened his eyes. He saw Elijah sleeping there. Now that he thought of it, Joshua never really saw Elijah while he was sleeping. He smiled looking at Elijah. Joshua thought Elijah looked really peaceful sleeping like that and more than anything Joshua liked that he couldn't see Elijah's eyes. 

" Why are you so difficult to understand ? What are you hiding ? " Joshua mumbled and ran his hand through Elijah's hair. He felt Elijah fidget a little but went back to sleep again; snuggling to the pillow. Joshua smiled and turned to check the time. It was already dark outside and it was a little past 7. He got out of the bed and walked to the kitchen. 

He stretched a little. He took out a few strawberries and munched on them. He looked around and wondered if he should try making dinner. He was scared of spoiling it, but a try wouldn't kill. He finally decided that he will make something for dinner for both of them. He brought his phone and started searching for recipes. 

He wondered what he should make. He remembered Elijah watching some Japanese cooking shows recently. He searched for some easy recipes and came across Omurice. He thought it wasn't that difficult and he did make good omelettes these days. So he decided to cook that. He looked at the video and understood it. 

He then looked for the ingredients. He collected them all and placed them on the counter. He placed his phone on the side and checked the video step by step and started with the preparations. He started with chopping the things he need to and put them away. He then put the pan on the stove. 

Elijah woke up after a while and sat up on the bed. He opened his eyes and turned to the side but didn't find Joshua. He frowned wondering where Joshua was. He got up and walked out of the room. As he walked, he smelled something and walked quickly to the kitchen. His eyes went wide at the sight in front of him. 

Joshua flipped the pan with the plate covering it. He put it on the island and saw Elijah who was standing at the door. " Hey. Come in ". Elijah walked in and sat on the chair. " What are you doing ? " He asked looking at the things on the plates. Joshua put the pan away and washed his hands. Now when they were sitting on the chairs, it was vice versa. 

It was opposite to what it always was with Joshua on the other side unlike daily. It was Elijah on the other side most of the time; sitting there after cooking a meal. Joshua cleared his throat. " You were sleeping so I didn't want to disturb you and thought we would be hungry in a while, so....... I.. cooked this ". Joshua said unsure of the result. 

Elijah looked around the kitchen. Joshua cleaned up once he got the things he needed and then started cooking. So the kitchen was not a mess. He also put all the dishes he used in the sink. So it was clean and neat too. Elijah was impressed by all of it; seeing Joshua put so much effort and hard work. 

He saw Joshua who sat there nervous about the taste. His eyes then finally landed on the plate in front of him. He smiled at the smiley drawn on top of it. He took a bite and chewed. Joshua observed Elijah's every move. He bit his lip looking at Elijah with wide eyes. Elijah looked up at Joshua. " Eat it ". 

Joshua opened his mouth in shock. He looked down. He shouldn't have tried. He took a bite waiting for the worst and chewed. He immediately looked up with wide eyes. Elijah chuckled. " You should've seen your face. You were so nervous ". Joshua sighed. " I thought it turned out bad. Jerk ". Elijah smiled. " Don't worry, it turned out fine ". Joshua smiled. 

" It isn't that good though ". Joshua said taking another bite. " It is good as long as it is edible, it need not be exquisite ". Joshua nodded. " How did you become so good all of a sudden ? " Elijah smiled. " I have a good teacher ". Joshua chuckled and Elijah laughed. " Remember to pay him well then ". Joshua rolled his eyes with a smile. 

" Sure. But don't you think me making such a good meal is good enough of a fee ? " Elijah looked up shook by the response. Joshua wiggled his eyebrows. " No comments ". Joshua laughed. Elijah went back to eating. " You are going to do the dishes since I cooked ". Elijah nodded. " Okay ". They were done eating and Elijah got to work. 

Joshua sat on the chair keeping Elijah company. " I was so scared that it might turn out bad ". Elijah laughed. " There is nothing to be scared of. Giving your best is enough ". " Maybe. But for me, I think the purpose would matter more ". Elijah's hand paused for a second and resumed. " You think so ? " He asked continuing his work.

Joshua nodded. " Yeah. No matter what we do, the purpose is the most important. It can be the main driving force for courage. As long as the reason is valid it will turn out good ". Joshua said looking at Elijah's back. Elijah nodded. " Right ". Joshua didn't know why but it felt like Elijah's response sounded like he was saying it to convince himself more than replying to Joshua. 

He didn't say it out loud though. They just chatted till Elijah was done. They then went and sat on the couch. " I am not sleepy at all ". Joshua said; wide awake. " What do we do ? " " A movie marathon ? " " Sure ". Joshua picked up the remote and started searching for movies to watch. " How about ' The Godfather trilogy ' ? " Elijah nodded. 

" Anything will do ". " Okay ". Joshua started the movie and they watched all three continuously without even a break. It took almost 10 hours by the time they were done. Joshua stretched once they were done. " The sun is going to rise in not more than 2 hours ". Elijah said looking at the time. Joshua yawned. 

" It is Sunday anyway so it is fine. We should go to sleep now ". Elijah nodded. They switched the television off. Joshua got up from the couch. " Good night ". " That's it ? " Joshua paused before walking to his room. " What do you mean ? " Joshua frowned. " You said it so sweetly yesterday calling me hubby and all now just a plain 'good night' ? " Joshua scoffed. 

" In your dreams ". He walked to his room. " Good night baby ". Elijah shouted and got a door slam as a response. He laughed. He is definitely going to have a hard time taming his wifey. He went to his own room to fall asleep. And they both did sleep pretty quickly as they were tired and stayed up too long.

Elijah : What are you guys talking about ?

Elijah : (nods)

 BR : Are you gifting anything to Joshua ?

Elijah : I didn't think of anything, but am I not enough of a gift ? (looks super confident)

Author : (gags)

BR : (wants to kill but calms down) My mistake. It is all my fault. (given up)

Elijah : (chuckles and turns to BR) I heard you were the only one here last week and messed up.

Author : (⊙ˍ⊙)？You want to die ? I don't know about you but I don't want Joshua to be single.

BR : (chokes) You brat ! Come here.

Elijah : (laughs and runs away)

BR : (follows Elijah)

😂😂😂 It is for fun but who wouldn't make mistakes. It isn't a big thing and I told the same to my BR too. Because of them is why I don't make mistakes. But I was busy and didn't help out properly too. So all is well. Mistakes happen.
