"So you two are friends now?"Mia asked with utmost suspicion. I looked up at her from across the table, wondering how she knew so fast. The waiter had just given us our smoothies and bi could see Emma was confused at her question. We were at the smoothie shop down the street from school.

"Um friends with who exactly?" I ask trying my luck as i sip a bit of my smoothie.

"Josh ofcourse, don't play dumb" she replies. "Oh.. right, yes well we became friends during his party" I say. I mean I was kinda telling the truth right?

"Nope that's not where it started. Apparently someone saw the two of you in a little corner in the library yesterday, apparently you guys seemed really close" she explains with a suspicious smirk. I look at her and then to Emma, to catch a grin on her face she only had when she was interested in a juicy topic.

"It's nothing like that...I was just tutoring him, he's failing math so I decided to help so that he wouldn't be put off the team because of grades" I fib nervously.

"Oh that's awfully sweet of you kath. Almost too  sweet. Kinda sounds like what a girlfriend would do don't you think? " Emma says suspiciously. I felt my cheeks flush immediately

"Now common guys it's nothing like that. I was just helping out a friend you know what he did for me at his Party I don't even like him. Plus if I had a boyfriend wouldn't i tell my best friend?" I explain touching Emma usually soft hand and I could see her suspicion fade.

"Eh I guess" she replies with a shrug and I smile. "Now let's finish up we have practice in an hour Mia" she adds. Mia nods in agreement and but I could see she was still a bit unconvinced. For some reason I felt like I was lying, but I wasn't, Josh and I, no matter how much I wish, are not and will never be dating.

After finishing up we went back to school for our remaining classes. Although my focus I couldn't help imagine how it would be if Josh and I actually dated. I mean, it wouldn't be bad, him and I walking down the school halls hand in hand, me going to my honor classes and leaving him with a kiss and his arm around my waist.

Cringey right? I know. But a girl could dream.

I was finally done with my classes and walked into the busy hall of students towards my locker to look for Emma. She had a bit of an infestation in her locker so I agreed to share mine with her for the Time being, so I was surprised to not see her waiting for me at her usual spot, after all her classes ended earlier than mine.

Maybe she had to go for practice...
I thought.

A feeling of dissapointment slightly hit me, even if I never say it, I always enjoy spending that little Time by my locker with her and walking with her to practice, infact, I even enjoyed watching her practice.

I got out my books and stuffed them into my backpack before grabbing my phone out to check if Emma had sent me any messages of where she'd be.
A light yellowish material suddenly slips out of the corner of the locker. I picked up the material to see it was a paper folded carefully into an envelope.

A letter? For me?..

I open it up eagerly interested to see what the content might hold.

She  was so lovely,
Under the moonlight,
That even the stars wanted to know her name.
You robbed me of my heart, soul, and mind,
And I love you,
Sweet bandit of mine...

I couldn't believe what I had just read. My cheeks and even entire body blushed so much that I must have looked like a standing rose. My eyes widen when I saw the initials.
