I stand in horror as I watch the body of who I refused to think it was being reeled into an ambulance from the clearing of trees by a lake in the distance. A sudden kick of adrenaline settles in as I run as fast as I can towards the flurry of police and ambulance lights, sirens lighting up the lake and tall oak trees around them.

"Miss Anderson?" I hear officer Davis say noticing me coming closer. I totally ignore his statement and stomp my way towards the ambulance.

"Miss Anderson you can't go there right now" he informs, grabbing my hand, preventing me from moving further.

I snap my head back. I look him dead in the eye furiously, refusing to utter a word.

I release my hand from his grip aggressively, before returning back on my way to the ambulance.

"Miss Anderson" I hear him yell from behind me, but I continue onwards without looking back.

"You can't go there!" He repeats authoritatively.

"Miss And- Hey!" He yells to two officer "You two! Stop her!"

They immediately run after me,both grabbing each of my arm

"Get off" I yell for the first time, releasing my hands, but one jumps in front of me blocking my way.

"Get. Out." I say coldly, shoving him aside. Before he could recover, I finally reach the ambulance and push the paramedic in front of the body bag away.

"Please don't be her; Please Don't be her; I beg you please don't be her" I chant in my head as I slowly zip down the black leather bag.

I wrinkle my nose at the rotten stench before widening my eyes, mortified at the familiar face staring back at me.

My hands are trembling, trembling with fear, anger, and sadness.

"E-"

I scan her face, wet, pale; almost blue, and lifeless, the exact opposite of what she always looks like: happy and always with a warm smile.

I touch her face and wince at her unnatural coldness, I want to scream and shout for her to get up for us to go home, but my lips refused to move, and the realization of what is going on was gradually sinking in...

"I- no..."

I couldn't even say her name, a single tear had finally slid down my cheeks.

"Miss Anderson" I hear the familiar panth from behind me "I'm sorry, but your friend-" he stops to catch his breath.

"Your friend is dead" he completes his sentence.

Dead...

She's dead...

The words rang in my ears over and over again.

My chest rises and falls unnaturally, as loud distorted gasps escape my throat, and I feel my lungs become tighter and slowly close in.

I was having a panic attack...

"No... no..." I say in between pants.

"I- it can't be.. " is all I could say.

"I know this is a hard to take in, but the sooner you accept it the sooner-"

"No...s-stop" I yell pushing him away and covering my ears from his words "she's not dead okay?"

"Common jokes over let's go.." I let out a bitter laugh "..they think you're dead so just open your eyes and prove them wrong"I whisper caressing her face.
