"well look who decided to show up. Good morning Miss Anderson"an all too familiar red head said annoyedly, as I barged into class, late, as usual."Miss Jones I'm sorry but this time I have a good reaso-"
"Let me guess, your car broke down? Or no traffic? Or Maybe your pet turtle died again?" She asks sarcastically. I look down trying to think of an excuse.
"Well- I- you see I- um my driver-"
"You know miss Anderson, we talked about this last term and you promised you'd start coming earlier, it's your first day of your final term of highschool for goodness sake" she booms interrupting me.
Miss Jones was the principal of our school, and every first day of each term she would come to check all classes to mark early attendance of students and review new school rules and make announcements, and ofcourse I always come at the end of it or miss it completely, so miss Jones also become accustomed to it as well as all my teachers.
"I know, I'm sorry ma'am" I apologise politely, not wanting to get into any sort of punishments on my first day.
She scans me carefully, probably deliberating weather or not to give me detention for my tardiness.
"Hmm" she says scribbling something down on her clipboard.
"Your lucky your an excellent student miss Anderson, you've never caused any trouble and has had perfect scores scince you decided to turn a new leaf in life, so I'm going to let you off the hook for today with this" she explains, tearing the sheet she was writing on from her board and handing it to me.
"Late arrival?" I ask pleasantly surprised.
"Yes, every Mondays you get late arrival, scince this term you have no subjects you offer in the morning anymore, I decided to make it official" she says with her sweet but strict smile, stretching her dried light red lip gloss barely on her lips anymore.
"Thank you, so much Miss Jones" I say thankfully.
"Alright, and that's Principal Jones to you missy" she says playfully. I flash her a smile and nod my head, before quickly scurrying to my seat, and sitting besides my usual people.
"Okay students, tho registration for the new club forms will be posted on the bulletin board by lunchtime, so make sure to put your names down on the club of your choice, have a nice day" she announces, as we all thank her in unison and she takes her leave.
"Well good morning princess tardinna" my best friends teases me in a hushed voice.
"Oh haha real clever, you know that name is getting really annoying" I answer sarcastically, getting my books out of my bag.
"Oh don't be like that, you love it when I call you tardinna" she says nudging my side.
"No, I really don't" I say trying to sound serious.
"Okay then I'll stop calling you princess tardinna the day you stop being late to school, seriously Kath it's our first day what the hell happened to your vow to stop oversleeping?" She asks disappointedly.
I look down exhausted.
"It's not that easy Emma" I reply not looking up at her, I was busy taking notes of what the teacher was writing on the board.
"And why is that exactly?" She asks furrowing her brows. I look at her briefly, baffled that she was actually asking me that question.
"You know why" I say annoyed. She looks upwards trying to remember what I was talking about, before widening her hazel orbs and letting out a gasp from her her regularly pink-lip-glossed heart shaped lips.
