After a long journey, Thomas returns to Arkham once again, walking into the entrance of the prison to see the remains of the explosion and the following breakout, bodies everywhere, like a slaughterhouse. Back in the earlier days of his career, coming to Arkham wouldn't bother him a bit. Following the end of the Amazonian/Atlantean War however, with further superpowered beings on the rise, and the world not knowing what to do with it, Arkham had to become the holding facility for them, as they were the only one nearly equipped to deal with it. So not only are the enemies of the Batman loose, but those of the Ternion as well.
As he continues to step through the prison, it seems fairly quiet, until a sound catches his attention. He turns and sees the villain Ratcatcher, running through the shadows. He pulls out his pistol and starts to follow her and her trail of rats, as it starts to lead him towards the Maximum Security wing. Eventually he corners her in the entrance chambers to the wing, aiming his gun right at her.
"You said you were going to reform, what are you doing still sneaking around Arkham." He demanded with a cold snarl in his voice, his finger lying on the trigger.
"They knew that. That's why they used me to lure you in." She responds, looking almost nervous.
"What?"
Before he knew it, he was slammed to the side in an instant, as Bane started to approach him. Thomas fired a bit at the huge man, but Bane just grabbed it and twisted his wrist, causing Thomas to drop his gun as he groaned in agony. Before he was able to get up again, Maxima ran over and pushed him hard, sending the hero flying towards the wall. Then Teth-Adam stepped on his gut and looked down at Batman with a smirk.
"Shazam."
A lightning bolt cracked and stunned him, instantly bringing his energy down to a low. He coughed and sputtered as a shadowy figure started to approach, covering their appearance in a cloak.
"No. We're not doing it like this. It has to be by my hands." The figure spoke, feminine, but strong willed.
The figure approached Batman on the ground and pulled a blade out from its sheath, holding it up against his heart.
"I have been waiting years for this. May you find never-ending agony with Hades."
Suddenly, a sonic boom is heard as through the wall flies Superman, slamming into the mystery figure and tossing her across the floor. He fires a beam of heat vision at the ground, causing a fire to rise that stumbles the other three villains backwards. He instantly rushes over to Batman's aid, picking his ally up.
"Rat...catcher..." Thomas sputters through his words, pointing over at where Ratcatcher was hiding.
Superman zooms over and offers Ratcatcher his hand, helping her up as he flies off with both of them, leaving the villains behind to live with their defeat for now.
