The year is 2011, and the Atlantean/Amazonian War has just started to take hold, as most of the Amazons have been sent to London to take part in the first major battle. And with lack of soldiers comes opportunity. Without warning the forces of the furthest planet Apokolips struck on the island of Themyscira, as waves of Parademons led by Steppenwolf and the Female Furies attacked the island.

Batman was currently flying the Batjet, having gotten a distress signal from Diana that was only meant for emergencies, and this seemed like an opportune time to use it.

"I want you to know the only reason I'm helping is because what you've told me about Apokolips previously is bad, and I don't need that shit on my planet."

"Thomas...I already explained to you the marriage was just symbolism. We needed peace between our peoples."

"And instead you cut off the queen's head."

"She came at me in my chambers with the intent to kill."

"...I would rather not like to discuss this right now. Later when this is all over. And I want to hear everything."

The jet screams over the island as he dives out from underneath it, dive bombing over the warzone and pulling his guns out as he extends his arms into a glide, shooting at any enemy that comes to his sides. Eventually he finds a nice spot to land and rolls into another set of shots, dropping a few more Parademons.

Soon Diana joins him, tossing him his sword. "You left this here last time."

"I would've preferred to keep it with you. Might use it to cut off another head."

"Not. Now."

Thomas spins his sword around as they jump into action together, slashing away at Parademons while they kept coming in droves like bugs, seeming almost like an endless onslaught over the entire island nation.

"Do you have any idea why they're here?!"

"No not yet! They could've gone for any of the artifacts but they walked passed the archives, instead going for the palace!"

He starts to think on that for a moment as he continues to do battle with the creatures, waiting for one to charge at him as he points his sword forward and stabs it right through the head, slamming it down to the ground and putting his boot on its head to pull it back out again. And then it hits him.

"Diana. Steppenwolf is going for your chambers."

"The bastard wouldn't dare..."

She boosts off into the air as Thomas pulls out his grapnel gun, firing off at her foot as he's pulled away, getting enough wind under his wings before detatching into a glide again, moving forward towards the palace section of the island, looking quite damaged compared to its usual elegant display. Diana and Batman make their way to the palace steps, walking up it as Thomas starts to shoot away at any Parademons that come close, while Diana's focus is on taking Steppenwolf's head.

As soon as they get there, they are already greeted by the Apokoliptian general, holding a baby in his arms.

"The parents, together again. If I knew that it would bring my presence to bring you two back from the realm of oblivion you put yourselves in, it would've made this all the more easy to take up."

Thomas points his gun right at Steppenwolf's head, intent to try and pierce his armor enough to get a headshot through.

"Don't even bother. If I drop, you have to make sure baby doesn't drop. And that would be a bad mess to clean up now wouldn't it?"

Batman puts down his guns as he stares with the deepest, most murderous eyes that anyone has ever saw.

"That's more like it. Now, your little bundle of joy, what was her name....Donna. Yes. She will become a fine Fury for Darkseid."

"The Lord of Apokolips cannot have her!" Diana calls out as she starts to rush towards him. Steppenwolf swings his sword forward, meeting her halfway as he motions back to the child again.

"He will have her, and he will mold her into the perfect killing machine. As the great Batman stood back and watched his child being taken away from him. Again."

Steppenwolf headbutts Diana before kicking her away. Before she has a chance to recover, a boom tube shoots out of nowhere and takes him away, as multiple others arrive on the island to basically clean up the mess. Diana turns over to Thomas as he just stands there silent, his fingers tightening into a fist as he punches the wall.

"Fucker was right, I couldn't do a thing. The pain of losing a child again, I couldn't move. I couldn't then and I couldn't now."

Diana walks up to Thomas and puts a hand on his shoulder. "You had a different family then, you were a different man. We'll get her back, I promise."

"Once your deal with the Atlanteans is done first I'm guessing"

"That....While that may be true, that's not my sole reason for saying that. We need time to figure out how to get her back here safely, as well as ourselves."

"You're right. We'll get Donna back, we have to."
