Player: Chapter 19

**Cameron's POV**
It's been a few days now ever since Beth's been in the hospital. She's doing okay. It's what we last heard of. Matt's been a wreck. Me and Carter are trying to find a way to get him back on his feet. Now we're all sitting in the living room watching tv and waiting for any updates.

"Anyone hungry?" Nash asked. I shook my head. So did the rest of of us. In just a blink Matt comes in the front door looking a little pale.

"Matt?" I asked as I stood up. Everyone stood up once they got a good glimps of him.

"Where were you? Did you leave the house?" I asked. He nodded his head.

"Matt where did you go?"

"I. Went to. Umm. See B-Beth." He mumbled. I nodded my head.

"How is-" All of a sudden, my phone started vibrating and going off. I reached in my pocket and looked to see who was calling. Ray.

"Hello?"

"Hey. Uh. Is Matt home?" He asked. I looked up and didn't see Matt anymore. I ran upstairs and checked in his room.

"Yeah. He's home. Why?"

"He's pretty down. Paler than before. Cameron you gotta get him to eat."

"We're trying. He won't eat, sleep or even get out of the room. The only thing he does I takes showers and look out the window."

"Okay. Try getting him to eat."

"Okay. Oh and Ray. Where have you been?"

"I'm out of state."

"Where?"

"New York City."

"What? Why? Your sister is in the hospitals, how could you be in-"

"She's not my sister okay?"

"What? Yes she is. Look man you better come down and start explaining."

"Look. Beth isn't my sister. She's only my adopted sister. Her mom was killed by her dad. Her dad is in jail sentenced to life. She was an orphan for about a year or two. Before, she was in the hospital."

"What? What for?"

"Breathing issues. But. While she was in the hospital, her dad killed her mom. So. After Beth came out of the hospital. She went to an orphanage. When she was about 10 years old, we adopted her."

"Does she even know?"

"No! You can't say anything or else she'll go crazy and want to find her official dad."

"Ray she has to know at some point in her life. You can't keep it a secret you know."

"So far, I have. And it's working."

"Ray you can't-"

"Look I gotta go. Try keeping Matt healthy and get him to do something."

"Since when do you care about Matt? All you ever do is terrorize him."

"My mom and dad are thinking to move back to Virginia to keep Beth away from you guys. Especially Matt."

"Why would they care?! All they ever did was go on vacation and shit!"

"Cameron. I have to go. I'll explain everything when I get back."

"That will be when?"

"Soon. Bye."

"Bye." Ray hung up. I put my phone in my pocket and turned around to see everyone staring at me."

"Was that Ray?" Carter asked. I nodded my head.
