"Not all men are created equal. That's the sad truth I learned when I was five, I learned that some kids have more power than others. I still remember the day that everything changed."
It was a clear sunny day over Musutafu. The birds were chirping and slight breeze blew through the trees making them dance. However, for one little green haired boy the suns blinding light pierced his emerald eyes. What he thought was just teasing turned more physical, and all because he born without a quirk.
Izuku Midoriya was just like any other four year old. Had a loving mother, loved Japan's number one hero All Might, and a best friend who would alway be there for him; At least that's what he thought. Katsuki Bakugo a loud, spiky blond haired, ruby eyed boy had beat Izuku to a pulp using his quirk.
Katsuki ot kacchan as Izuku always called him had alway been rough and a little crude with Izuku, but never to this extent. Kacchan had gotten his quirk a few weeks ago which allowed him to generate explosions from his palms, and with the awaking of his quirk Izuku noticed a change in his attitude.
At first it was small things like getting annoyed with Izuku easily, avoiding regular playdates, and just not interested in what Izuku had to say. But as the weeks went on he became more violent and it all came crashing down one faithful day.
"What do you think you're doing deku?" Katsuki asked while smirking at a scared Izuku standing in a fighting position, behind him a kid on his hands and knees.
"Why are you hurting him Kacchan?" Izuku cried not letting go of his position.
"He tried to challenge me! Not my fault he has a weak quirk." Katsuki said still wanting to fight the kid. "Now get out of the way."
Katsuki started moving closer towards expecting Izuku to stand aside but he didn't budge. "Stay back...or...or.. I'll fight you." Izuku stuttered out.
This made the young blond stop, did Deku really try and stand up to him. A weak quirkless Deku who cried at the slightest bit of conflict was going to fight him.
"Ok." Katsuki said with devilish smirk.
Suddenly Katsuki charged Izuku and let out a small explosion in his face. Izuku tried to get back up but Jatsuki was to fast, forcing him to the ground and letting off a bunch a mini explosions. Izuku through all the pain was able to grab some dirt and throw it into Katsuki's face. While the explosive kid reeled back in pain Izuku was able to tackle him on the ground and hold him down.
"Please stop Kacchan." Izuku pleaded.
"Quiet Deku!" Katsuki yelled.
Finally having enough of Izuku, Katsuki lets off a larger explosion throwing him off and finally ending it with one more explosion to Izuku's face, causing the quirkless boy to lay on the ground defeated. Katsuki was breathing heavy and looking down at the other boy like he was trash.
"Let this be a lesson Deku!" He began putting his foot on Izuku's chest. "A quirkless nobody like you will never be a real hero. Just give up."
Katsuki got off Izuku and slowly walked away leaving the barley conscious boy to lay there. After a few minutes Izuku finally stood up, he noticed the other boy had long left; probably when Katsuki tackled him. As he walked home he could help but think back to what Katsuki said, the two had always wanted to grow up and be heroes together, but ever since Katsuki got his quirk and Izuku himself was diagnosed quirkless, a noticeable rift was starting to reveal its ugly head.
Izuku finally making it home to his apartment noticed a slim green haired women in the the kitchen and by the smell of it lunch was almost done.
"Izuku is that you? Lunch is almost- Oh my goddess!" Inko said running to her son looking a him. Inko Midoriya was a kind sweet women who Izuku took a lot after, except for his diamond shaped freckle pattern on each of his cheeks, that was courtesy of his father. She was the one who took him to the quirk doctor and was there to see her poor son burst into tears when they got home. "Izuku are you ok? What happened?" She asked.
At first Izuku wanted to tell his mom what happened but something stopped him. 'What if Kacchan was just having a bad day? He did say Auntie make upset when she forced him to eat peppers.' Izuku thought to himself.
"It's fine mom. I was just playing with Kacchan and we just got a bit too rough." He lied.
"Izuku.... You know you can't be playing like that with Katsuki. Especially with his quik." She lectured him. "Now let's get you cleaned up and ready for lunch."
After getting patched and cleaned up Inko served Izuku his ramen and on the other side of the table with her bowl. As Izuku ate he noticed his glass of water was a bit in front of him so he wanted to try something. Izuku stuck out one of his hand and started making a toward him motion with his fingers.
"Izuku? What are you doing?" Inko asked with a confused look on her face.
Izuku sighing in defeat and putting his arm down mumbled, "I was trying to be like you."
A wave of sadness washed over Inko's face. Ever since the quirk doctor visit she couldn't help but blame herself for Izuku being quirkless. She grabbed that water and gave it to Izuku before giving him a kiss on the forehead, the two continued to eat in silence.
Once Izuku was done eating he asked his mom if he could watch more All Might videos on the computer. Inko hoping it would get Izuku's mind off the events of the day decided to let him. As Izuku watched his favorite All Might video of him saving hundreds of people from a terrible accident he couldn't help but wonder about his quirkless status.
Izuku's parents were both fourth generation quirk users and while their quirks weren't super strong on their own, each generation sees a buff in power. Inko's aloud her to attract small objects towards her, and his father Hisashi who was abroad for work, had the ability to generate different types of precipitation around him. Izuku alway wondered what kind of quirk he would get but now all of that feel more like a dream than ever. But thinking about what All Might said in a interview aired not to long ago that anyone can be a hero, and Izuku was going to become one no matter what.
A few hours of computer time and playing with toys it was time for Izuku to go to hed. As he jumped into bed surrounded by all his All Might posters he noticed rain clouds starting to hide the moons beautiful face.
'I hate the rain.' He thought.
But what the little green haired boy fail to notice as he drifted into slumber was those same clouds disappearing allowing the moons beautiful light touch his freckled face.
(This a rewrite of my Izuku story and I hope y'all enjoy this new and improved version. Especially if you've read the original chapter.)
