"You're burying him? You fuckin' idiot, it takes so long to dig a grave. Two meters is so much dirt to move for a runt like you. No one cares about him anyway, yeah? You're wasting your time."

"He's going to kill me otherwise," I retort, but I don't make any sense myself. I shake the hair out of my face and strike the ground with the shovel again, but I don't even make a dent. The earth feels frozen solid.

"If you're so sure, why don't you cut him up? You can make sure he's dead then. Plus, smaller pieces are easier to get rid of, you don't have to make one big hole. Don't be stubborn just because I'm right."

"You're wrong." I looked over at his body where I had laid it. He's turned on his side, facing me. Even though his skin is already discoloring from the blood pooling inside his body, his eyes are open, full of life. He's looking right at me, and he doesn't look afraid anymore.

"He's going to kill me."
