Ch 13

Yup...he knows it is me and how my time has come.....

Well then, this is my time it seems...the end of the line. Along with Duke who is right next to me...I can't see him but I know he's right there....I want to get him out but there seems to be no escape....at least Max was able to get away.

It sounds like I gave up...well, I did. Why would I want to go anywhere? My brother, Max, lost his trust in me...Duke, is going to go down with me and Katie is probably going to go get another dog...humans are like that. They get a pet and soon grow bored of it..they collect it like a prize.

That's what I was...a prize or I was suppose to be but I didn't turn out like my old owner wanted. I'm not needed for I have no purpose, huh...I guess that's what felt like was missing. Knowing, I needed to know.  Now, I feel quite happy....well, not completely,

I never got to apologize to Max and say I'm sorry for not telling him my pass. If I wanted him to know than I didn't need to wait for him to ask. I should have told him for I am showing him I trust him enough.

Besides, what if he was respecting my privacy. Maybe he didn't want to force me. He was waiting for me to give the signal, that I was ready...I never gave the signal...maybe that's why he waited and waited...when I didn't give tell him..that showed that I wasn't ready...

When he found out about the flushed pets club, he thought that there was another side of me. That the other side was the real me. I never let him know who I really was. I didn't tell him anything about me..I always avoided it..now he doesn't know which is real. And he's scared. Scared that the other side is the real me. That I just doesn't care....I need to tell them. I need to tell my brothers, that I do care. I need to clean up any misunderstandings.

"Hey Duke-"

SCREEEECCHHH

"OH MY GOD!" I screamed out.

"AHHHHHH!!" And Duke was screaming a long out..wait.is this another van nap situation? Did someone else take over the vehicle?

VRRROOOOOOMMM

"Who taught this guy to drive!?" I ask.

BOOOOOOM

"Agh! I wonder what we crashed into? Hey Duke! You alright?!" I yelled out.

"Yeah, I'm okay..how about you?" Duke asks.

"I'm alrig-" I began before.....

CREEEEAAAKKK

"...."

"...." We're doomed...

WHOOOOOSSSSSHHH

"AHHHHHHH!" This time Duke and I screamed.

THUD

"AHHHHH!"

"Duke..."

"AHHHHH!"

"Duke!" I yelled.

"Huh?" Duke asks.

"We're okay..." I say calmly.

CREEEAAAKKK

"Or maybe not." I say again. And this time Duke and I looked down. We saw...a pretty deep lake...or is it an ocean?

"Oh my god! What are we gonna do! Betty!" Duke yells out.

"Hmm, I have no idea." I say truthfully.

"...."

"...." What to do. Oh, what to do?

"We're gonna die. Aren't we?" Duke asks.
