Ch 6

Max is in deep trouble.....

As I came to, I noticed I was alone in the apartment. Where did Max and Duke go? How long was I out? Also the most important question...did they just leave me here? Alone? Knocked out? How rude!

When I find them, they are in deep trouble! Wait...why does that sound deja vu-ey? Maybe I said it before? Hmm, forget that! I have two brothers to find and punished~ And with that thought, I went to gather my clues.

Okay, from what I see. The room is a mess. The vase was still broken and the boys were missing. What I also noticed was the leashes that usually hanged on the key rack were gone. I'm assuming the dog care taker came by and picked up the two. He usually comes by around the afternoon and it's one now. He's probably at the park with the boys.

The question is why didn't he noticed I wasn't with the two boys? Maybe Katie didn't inform him that she got a new dog. Why didn't he suspect the dog was different? He doesn't really pay attention to his surroundings.

Maybe he thought Duke was me and thought nothing suspicious of the matter. What a careless dog taker. Forget that! Focus! They should be coming back by 2. I'll just have to wait another hour for them to be back and I can punished them.

Another time and place:
Max and Duke both sneezed at the same time. Than felt a chill.....she's mad at us. They both thought.

Betty's POV:
Sigh, I guess I'll just have to wait.

One hour passes:
Where is that dog taker!?

Another hour:
It's almost 3!

Another hour:
This is ridiculous! It's almost 4! She thought to herself....(funny fact: she's a dog and she can't read numbers...what was 4 hours was just an hour) Just then the doorknob jiggled.

They're back! Betty thought as her tail wagged. But to her disappointment, it was just Buddy....wait. If Buddy's here, than shouldn't Max and Duke be back?

"Buddy! Your finally back! What took you so long! Where Max?! And Duke!?" I demanded as I asked him many questions. While Buddy just looked overwhelmed.

"Betty! Stopped!" Buddy yelled. Which surprised me and caused me to stop.

"Now take a breath." He demanded..and I did.

"Good. None what's this about Max and Duke not being here?" He asked. He doesn't know. He doesn't know!? He doesn't know they're not here! HE WAS WITH THEM ALL DAY!

"I THOUGHT THEY WERE WITH YOU!" I yelled. And probably scared him since he backed up...I don't care! My brothers are missing! They're probably alone! Cold! And afraid! I need to find them!

"Woah! Cal-" Buddy tried talking to me but I don't care at the moment. I just want to find my baby brothers! And with that that thought, I was out the door....

Time skip:
Where. Are. Those. BOYS! They are really making me mad! I've been looking for them for hours! And no signs of them! How do you lose two dogs! Max, I understand. He's a tiny dog. But Duke on the other hand, is a big dog! Even larger than me! So, how does one lose a large dog like him?!

"Oh, my gosh, what happened to you?" What? Wait....that sounds like...

"I had a fight. All right? With a big, stupid dog. He lost." That voice, I do not recognize but the big stupid dog sounds like an insult Max would use to describe Duke. So, it's probably Duke.

"Oh, you're headed into dangerous territory there, kitty-cat." Now that sounds more like Duke.

"I'd watch your tone, sunshine....." The voice trailed off as they started to sound more menacing. I should probably hurry over there.

"You know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna cut you into string, ball you up, and then bat you around for hours in a game that only I understand." The voice finished and I finally turn the corner to see......a hairless cat!?

"Oh, very nice. I'll take that!" The pink cat says as he grabs Duke's collar. Oh no, without that.....we are in deep trouble with the law!

"Wha...Ooh! Ooh-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! You want to start with me, little raisin?!" Duke said as he tried to make himself bigger.

"Okay. Get your umbrellas out, kitties, because here they come!" Duke says as he does a little scuffle with his feet.

"The thunder and the lightning!" He says as he kicks a soda can into a dumpster...which just slaps he's everywhere....Duke.

"Right down on your face!" He sounds really confident and I would've been too until I saw the army of cats the raisin had.

"Gosh, there are a lot of you up there....." Duke trails off as he realizes the army.

"I'm talking about the thunder and the lightning that's coming down on all of your collective faces!" And he will lose his confidence....in about...

"Attack on three..." One.....

"Two..." Two....

"I just remembered I gotta be somewhere!" And three. There he goes...right pass me.

"That guy, huh? Am I right?" Oh, I forgot about Max. Better go get him before he's mauled.

"Okay. You know what? I'm just gonna...No offense, but good-bye!" He says as he jumps in a trash can.

"Max!" I yelled. Come on! I was about to save his butt!

"Whoa!" Huh? They picked up the trash can using a cat ladder.....

"Whoa!" And are spinning him....how strong are these cats?!

"Hey! You little..." Now he's stuck in a bundle of cloth and a kitten just stole his collar....little thief.

"Well. Well. What do we have her? A little Missy who lost her way home? And with a nice fancy collar..." Raisin trails off as he looks at my collar....oh heck no!

"Your not touching this collar!" I growled at him. This was a gift and it was a symbol of Katie and Max accepting me into their home. I will not give this up!

It looks like I didn't intimidate him because it looks like he took my threat as a challenge. He approached me quickly and jumped at me but I reacted quickly. I moved my head to the side. Than I turned to him and tried to bite him....sadly I missed. What I also didn't noticed was his quick hands...sneaky little-!

"Duke? You came back?" I heard Max asked. What? He's back? I thought he would have abandoned Max and head on home?

"Run!" Duke yells as he runs pass him. Huh? What was he running from? I looked behind him and noticed a figure...a humane one....also running with a net....A DOGCATCHER! I know what he was and just like that, I was running.

"Run Max! I yelled to him as I passed him. His short legs better move it!

"It's the po-po! Scram!" The raisins brand cat yells. He has the right idea.

"Wait!" Max yells as he finally figures out why we're running.

The dogcatcher almost got Max but he tripped on the garbage blocking his way..he also recovered quickly. He is right on our tails but than I realized...in a big city like this wouldn't the dogcatcher travel in pairs? Where's the other one!

To my horror, I noticed another dogcatcher in front of us. We turned around to go the other way but we forgot about the one following us and just like that...we were caught......

A/n: Hey! The author just wants to say, she had some inspiration last night so she wrote this chapter and left it in the drafts but today she saw the vote on the chapt and decided to update another chapter! So here is your chapter! I also decided to make it up to the one user who decided to reach out to me and I told her I would update but took forever to. So this is also a "I'm sorry I took so long!" Type of chapter....I hope you enjoy it!
