The New Pup

Ch 3

"Max. Katie will be back. Now stop being unreasonable and do something else besides staring at that door."

      And here I am lecturing my brother. He keeps moaning and groaning about Katie leaving him. Why doesn't he believe me when I say she will be back?

"Max! Hey Max! Doing anything today?"

      That there is Gidget. Our neighbor, she is an adorable fluffy white dog with too much energy to spare. And she's also in love with my dear brother, Max. Ever since their eyes met as pups, she fell for him. I think it's sweet and I hope Max notices her crush. But then again he only cares for Katie and won't look anywhere but her. Poor Gidget.

"Yup, big things planned today! Very exciting!"

      He lies. Max lied. He's not going to do anything fun or exciting because I know his schedule.

Today's schedule
1.wait for Katie....
2. That's it

     Yup, that's literally his schedule and if Gidget's really lucky. He'll glance at her! Otherwise he's stuck to that door....oh! Hey look it's Chloe! Wait, that window is too low for her....

"Hey, Chloe! Um, are you okay?"

She's stuck.

"Hmm, no I got this."

She doesn't got this.

"Hey, Chloe! Do you ever wonder where they go everyday?"

"Max, I've told you this so many times! They go to a place call work and hang with their owners! Or was it boss?"

"No,that can't be true. Quit making stuff up Betty!"

I wasn't. Like I said before he doesn't believe me...

"Okay, here we go! Urgh!"

Should I help her?

"So, what do you think Chloe?"

"Hmm?"

"Our owners. Where do you think they go everyday?"

"You Max....I don't care."

"Maybe you don't because your a cat. And a cat could never understand the bond a human and dog can have."

      Okay Max, I may be a dog but I know this for a fact.  Not everyone likes dogs. And not everybody has a good bond with their dog. Some care about the breed of the dog and if they can receive money from them. I should know. But I'm glad I met Katie.

"Whatever"

Really Chloe?

"Uwah!"

And there she goes......

But hey, she landed on her feet.

"Hey Max!"

      Hey it's that pug.....I forgot his name. Mel...Mel something....Melvin? Yeah it was Melvin. Wait, no I had it wrong before. It's Mel....Melvin sounds better. Anyway, Mel also came through the window. Along with Sweet Pea.

"Hey, where were you last Sunday?"said Max.

"You guys won't believe this but my owner fed me this strange white pill and next thing you know I'm feeling whoozy. I wake up and I'm in the sky!"

The sky?

"The sky?" That's what I just thought, Max.

"Yeah, there suitcases everywhere and I'm in a crate."

"Wait there suitcases in the sky? Pft, I don't believe that."

"So, I pass out from fear and I'm in Florida!"

"Yeah, I don't believe that."

" I don't know but all I know is that I won't eat a pill like that again...unless it's cover in peanut butter because I mean peanut butter!"

Than there was a rattle in the vent.....hey look it's Norman! He's the guinea pig that lost his way home.

"Hey guys!"

"Hey Norman!"

"Is this the second floor or the third floor?" I think were on the third floor.
"I don't know any numbers but good luck Norman!"

"You can do it! He can't do it."

"I don't know Chloe, I think he might make it back."

      I just received disbelieving looks....I feel offended. All of a sudden the door opens. I thought Max would've jump at it again but instead Buddy appeared. That was his name! Buddy! Of course! Anyway, Buddy came into the room.

"Did..did you find it?"

"I sure did!"

He brought in a green ball....wait...is that the ball Katie lost? It is isn't it.

"This is just like the one Katie lost! It's green and it fits in my mouth just right!" It could be another ball. You never know.

Now there staring at the ball very intensely.....Chloe kicked it away.

"BALL!"

And there they go....why am I not chasing it? It is beneath me.

      Chloe probably thought the same as me because she was sitting there, chuckling to herself. Well, she was until a red dot was shown in front of her. Her feline instincts awaken. And there she goes. These pets are beneath me, MWHAHAH! I mean, ahem.

Wait, that sounds like....

"Katie!"

      Yup, Katie. She's back but something seems off. She didn't enter the room fully like she's hiding something....she brought something she knew Max wouldn't be happy about. Didn't she?

"Hey Max-a-million!" What a weird name yet fitting......he is spoiled. Pft-

"Hey there Pretty Betty!" Umm, uh. I can't take compliments.

"Katie!" And Max is just jumping around. Does he not notice how suspicious she's being?

Thud

She brought back another stray, didn't she? Looks like Max is now suspicious.

"Okay, okay stay calm. Stay calm." Is talking to us or to herself?

"Hey Max, Betty. I know this is going to be hard but we can all get through this together. Okay? Yea-." Than she was cut off as an enormous dog barged in. Wow, he seems excited......and adorable....

"Hey guys, this is Duke!"

"Um, hi Duke." He looks at me and wags his tail......awww.

"He's going to be your new brother!" I'm alright with that. As long as he keeps the place clean and eat from his own bowl. Otherwise we're good. If not....I'll leave that up to you to imagine.

Grrrr

Dang, Max. Leave the poor guy be.

Whine!

Looks like you scared him. And look at that, Katie is comforting him. How nice.

"Max! Noo!"

"Yeah Max, no."  I don't really what Max does half of the time but this time he's being a bit rude.

"I don't want a new brother!" I'm alright with him.

"Go ahead and check out the place!" And there he goes....causing a mess. Hopefully, he won't cause future messes...and there goes the table. Wow, he is a big dog.

"He didn't have a home, Max." Oh, he's a stray. Did she adopt him? He looks clean enough so probably the pound. Hey, he's coming back! With Max's toy. Put the toy down.

"Hey! Look! Duke found our lost ball!" Max found it....well more like Buddy did but Max made an effort.

Pffft

The ball pop. Max already doesn't likes him and he's now border-lining hating him......
