You knew your flaws.

You were always going to be anxious and overthink. Even before everything that happened with Kronos, you were like this. Staying up while you thought of every little thing that could fail in your life. Nit picking at everything you've ever done wrong and things you could have said. It was exhausting, really.

It didn't help that you overthought every single decision you've made. If you were meeting friends at a restaurant you weren't familiar with, you would show up early to study the menu in your car. You were confident in your choice to become a nurse and it still took you months to send the application in. You were scared of failure and your whole future depended on it. You knew that if you didn't get accepted or flunked out, you had nothing.

The beginning of your relationship with Flip was a doozy also. You knew you two had feelings for each other, it was obvious. He proved to you so many times how he really felt about you, doing everything he could to keep you safe from the evils threatening your life. All while, you were clueless, insecure, and comparing yourself to Lauren.

But with the endless and countless flaws that you had, you also knew your strengths.

No matter how anxious you were, you were patient. When you finally turned in your application for nursing school, you had to wait another 6 months to hear a decision. Of course you were nervous, but you waited patiently. The decision was in someone else's hands and there wasn't anything you could do about it.

The same applied now, waiting to hear back about Kronos' conviction.

It's been weeks since Paul released you and Flip from testifying, handling the rest of the witnesses and evidence himself. You were fine, still enjoying being off of work and trying to take advantage of your time with Flip. That meant lots of lazy days and dragging him out to whatever new coffee place you wanted to try.

Flip, on the other hand, was a nervous wreck.

You had to stop him from smoking a pack a day and chewing his nails off. Your head started to hurt from him pacing around the house, never wanting to sit down. He couldn't even focus on any of his other cases, his mind preoccupied as he worried. It was kinda cute, though. He looked like a Dad waiting for his daughter to come home from a first date.

"How are you so calm about this?" You remembered Flip asking you this when a week went by. Confusion sat on his face, staring over to you as he ran his hand through his hair.

"I don't know." You shrugged, the both of you going back to what you were doing. You shoved your nose in your book while he ping ponged across the room, lighting up yet another cigarette.

Needless to say, you got used to his chain smoking.

The next week came, moving onto another book. Flip knew he had to stop smoking as much, knowing that wasn't the best way to cope with his stress. You managed to bring him back to the amount he was smoking before, having to sit on his lap to trap him from grabbing his cigarettes.
