"And look! I can even," Grasping the edge of the shield, she threw it like a frisbee only for it to bury into the wall. With a gasp of amazement from her best friend, the two jumped up and down in excitement, before the vibranium was yanked out of the wall by her very unhappy father.
"What did I tell you about playing with this?" He asked in a stern tone, looking at her through his eyebrows. She reached forward to take the shield back, but her father kept a grasp on it.
"Peter wanted to see!" She said in order to defend herself, pointing to the sheepish young man next to her. Peter perked up, nervously waving over to the super soldier.
"It's true, M-Mr Rogers. I've never seen another shield like yours."
"See? I wasn't playing with it, I swear!" She yelled again, only to receive a disapproving scoff from her dad.
"You're not getting this back until you learn." He turned to leave.
"But- Dad!" She chased after him through the compound, attempting to retrieve the shield back. Catching flares from all the other avengers. Even Rhodey called after Olivia, but all she could focus on was getting the shield back.
Before she managed to get the shield she adored so much, Steve had put it away in a cupboard and locked it with a padlock. She sighed in defeat, then turned around to see all eyes on her.
"What? You haven't seen a girl chase her dad for a shield before?"
"N-No...not since you've arrived." Carol said with furrowed brows, looking to the others for support. Wanda, who was stood in the kitchen with Vision, let out a small chuckle, catching Olivia's attention.
"What's tickled you, Maximoff?" Olivia folded her arms and rested her weight on one leg. Wanda shook her head, resuming the cooking she was doing. Olivia sighed, shot her dad one last death glare and stormed back through the compound, slamming her bedroom like a bratty teenager.
"It would've been so cool if I had a suit!" She scolded to herself, angered heat flushing to her chest causing her to press her palm against the skin. Then she felt the cold metal around her neck, the thick clump of an amethyst crystal attached to a chain. Her fingers wrapped around the pendant, yanking the metal off of her neck in one swift pull. The crystal began to sparkle, small glimmers of lilac shine radiating off of the amethyst.
"And I know just the person who can help." She reached up and tapped the crystal, a small blue orb attaching to the tip of her index finger as she pressed her thumb against it, separating the two to expand the image that projected in front of her.
"I was just about to call you! I'm almost...done..." Her other best friend, Izzy Stark, spoke through the crystal, typing away on her computer and podding and poking the screens that also projected around her, "There!"
"Dad took my shield again." Olivia sighed, earning a roll of the eyes from Izzy.
"Were you playing with it again?"
"No! I was showing Peter how to use it!"
"He can't use it, Olivia. I literally manufactured it so no one other than you can use it."
"Okay, I was showing Peter how I can use it." Izzy shook her head, and continued to tap on her laptop.
"Have you got the back up shield?"
"I used the last of the vibranium for your suit, remember? You're going to have to beg your dad for the shield." Izzy shrugged her shoulders and purses her lips, "That's how it's going to have to be, my friend."
"Fine. You were useless."
"Hey! I'm making you a suit, aren't I?"
"Yes but you wanted to do that anyway."
Before Olivia could reply, she noticed a presence lurk behind Izzy, along with the exhalation of every step he took in his suit. He did always look funny when he wasn't wearing his helmet.
"Hey, Mr Stark." Olivia grinned, waving to Izzy's dad, Tony Stark.
"Is Peter with you?" He asked, not even acknowledging Olivia's hello. Izzy tensed up slightly, her fingers slowing down on the typing.
"Yeah, he's at the compound with me...why?"
"He texted me saying," Tony looked down at his phone and squinted his eyes slightly, pulling the screen away from him, "'Olivia got her shield taken. Again.'"
"She's asking me for a back up one. Again." Izzy pitched in.
"Listen, screw all of you. Teleport your ass over here and bring me my suit. We're supposed to be training and I don't even know the weight of what I'm going to be wearing."
Olivia and Izzy had been secretly training with one another in the training room for the past six months during the hours of 6pm-10pm, the hours when no one went to the training room. Izzy worked out her powers and learnt how to get a control of them, while Olivia threw her shield around and hoped to hit all the targets Izzy had set up. While also testing their hand to hand combat skills, of course.
"I already told you, I made your suit weightless. Do you ever listen to me?!"
"Training? What-" Tony began, but was cut off by Izzy.
"Nothing. Okay, bye!"
