I sat in my chair, completely unamused. Beomgyu was stomping his feet around the room, almost like we were getting couples' counseling. Ms. Kang and Mr. Jung sat together at their desks, murmuring over some papers. Beomgyu has been upset with me these days, but I couldn't care less. I had work to do, that included grading essays—and I didn't like them as much.

"Yihwa, please—"

"I'm not here to talk to you, please leave if you're here to pester me," I beckoned to the door, moving my arm to show where he could go. He scoffed in frustration, wanting to pick a fight with me. Listen, Beomgyu. I need to get paid if I'm going to please people. "I don't want to fight with you again today, so please—"

"It's important to be fighting with you."

"Absolutely not," I scoffed, placing my arms back on my desk. "It's toxic, Beomgyu. Toxic to fight with you again."

"You say that every time you wish to avoid your damn problems," Haha, he wouldn't cuss at me with my teachers in the room. Good try. "Please, can we at least just talk this out? You won't even come to my gig!"

"Because I'm busy," I sighed in frustration, shaking my head. "Besides, your version of talking is screaming your lungs out until your voice breaks. I don't want to talk with you nor can I go to your gig because I have work that day."

"Since when do you work?"

"I work with Yena at a coffee shop—why must I somehow tell you everything in my life?" I questioned, rubbing my temples. "Alright, enough, I need to grade essays and you're giving me a migraine. Please get out."

"Yihwa—"

"Beomgyu, what do you guys want to talk about anyway?" Ms. Kang cocked her head to the side, obviously intrigued. "You're mad at her for working but don't you have band practice by now?"

"It's canceled," Beomgyu explained, crossing his arms softly. "Tomorrow is our gig, so we're going to practice then. We decided not to do it today because our drummer wasn't going to be here either."
