Chapter Seven

After Evelyn was in bed, the monitor was working, Ash reappeared in the living room and she couldn't help but feel nervous as she took a seat beside Clay.

"So I chose a movie," Clay smiles, putting an arm on the top of the couch behind Ash.

"Do I even want to know what we are watching?"

"Uh maybe not," He says, pressing play. Half an hour into the movie she realized that she was actually almost completely cuddling with Clay.

"I'm sorry about the pizza," Ash says, looking away from the screen to look up at.

"I guess we'll have to do it again," Clay says, brushing a strand of hair out of her face. There was a jumpscare on the screen, making the main characters scream, which in turn made Ash jump burying herself closer to Clay. He chuckles, rubbing her arm.

"You don't even like scary movies," Ash mutters into his chest.

"Oh trust me, I love them."

"You're such a weirdo," Ash says, pulling away ever so slightly. Clay shifts not even a minute later so she was back in his homey embrace. After the movie finishes, Ash gets up and heads to the kitchen to make popcorn. She takes her seat beside Clay once again pulls her close to him and she places the popcorn bowl between them.

"You're really touchy today," Ash points out.

"Is it making you uncomfortable?" Clay says, shifting his position.

"No, I'm not uncomfortable," Ash starts as Clay moves back to their original position. "It reminds me a lot of home."

Clay couldn't help but the smile that spread across his face as her words sunk in. He feels like her home and that felt amazing to hear.

"Would you send me that picture you took of Evie and I earlier?"

"Of course, you know as long as you don't post it, I don't want Evelyn's face anywhere," Ash says, leaning forward to grab her phone off the coffee table. She sends him the picture.

"I won't post it but I want to send it to our friends if that's ok with you," Clay says, pulling out his phone to save the pic. It's a picture of him feeding Evelyn, he was wearing his red Dream hoodie, as it is one of his favorite hoodies, which can be seen in the background. He sent it on the Dream SMP discord, which she was on because she had been invited but had yet to join.
