Chapter 23: Corpses

3rd person P.O.V. :

Screams are heard around the capital, the capital is filled with corpses attacking the citizens. The magic knight captains and the magic knights who are in the room went to save the citizens. Asta went to a street, he found a little girl was surrounded by the corpses and an unknown man at a dead end.

"Do you like Clover Kingdom, lil girl?" Thr man asked the girl "I love it so much... please stop destroying the kingdom." The girl started to let her tears roll down as she replied. "I hate it! I hate the town, the people who lives here! Even you little girl!" The man gave the girl a sarcastic smile "Die little girl-" before the man can finish his sentence, Asta rushed towards them and make a slight scar on the corpses, the corpses instantly fell.

"Huh A magic knight? Oh, it is just a knight from the bulls and he is just a kid." The man look at Asta as he says "Oi! DON'T LAY YOUR HANDS ON THAT GIRL! WE WILL KILL YOU!" Liebe appears with a dagger which is made out of anti-magic in his hand when Asta shouted.

"FUHAHAHAHA! YOU THINK YOUR TAUNTS ATTACK CAN STOP THE CORPSES!" The man shouted as he tried to gain back the control of the corpses.

*Keyword: Tried*

The corpses did not move when the man made a signal. During that time,the girl ran towards Asta. "Are you hur-" before Asta can finish his sentence, the girl went to hug him "I was so scared!"

"I see, you must be the anti-magic kid." The man smirked 'He knows about me and anti-magic... but he doesn't know anything about Liebe' Asta thought.

More corpses from appeared from a portal, "Nobody ask someone for a magicless kid like you to help them!" The man shouted as he control the new bunch of corpses and Asta rushed towards the group of corpses.

At the capital district, the Silvas (except Noelle) went to stop the corpses. At the west district, most of the golden dawn knights went to stop the corpses while at the north-west district Yuno, Alecdora and Mimosa went to aid the citizens and Sol and Charlotte went to the east district.

"Where did that bakasta go!?" Noelle asked herself as she is with Fuegoleon and Leopold in the north district. When Leopold attacked the corpses he found Asta who has defeated a mountain of corpses. "That's what makes him my rival!" Leopold said.

With Asta, "Why are you attacking the innocents?!" Asta asked sternly as he rushed to the man, the man summoned a weird looking corpse that is wrapped with bandages. "Number 4, Jimmy. Everyone who doesn't understand my magic is sinners!" The man shouted as a few ball of magic fired towards Asta. Asta dodged moat of them but he was hit by 2 of them.

"Tch, I got hit." Asta says as he noticed something, the wounds keep bleeding. "Jimmy's special made curse will let you keep bleeding. If I were you, I will be very careful because you are going to die from blood loss!" The man said.

Asta erased the balls of curses, suddenly some of them went towards the little girl. Asta saw it and he blocked them before any of the magic hit the girl. "Who are you aiming at, jerk!?" the attack angered Asta."I KNEW THE MAGIC KNIGHTS WILL PROTECT THE CITIZENS!" the mage shouted.

'Jimmy' shot more balls of curses at the little girl and Asta keeps on cutting them.
Noelle saw Asta is having trouble, she wanted to help him but she remembered her sibling's taunts.

"Leave you failure, you don't belong here"

"You can't even control your magic properly."

"You were exiled from Silva. I'm surprised you got some nerves return to the noble realms"

Her heart started waver, a group of corpses came towards her without her realising them. It was too late when she realise them. Suddenly, a wave of fore just burnt them all. Fuegoleon was walking towards her "T-thank-" Noelle was cut by Fuegoleon hitting her head "FOCUS!" "Ow..." Noelle yelped in pain. "Don't let yourself effected by what your siblings said. You don't have any time to think about it in a battle! A wrong decision will lost a life. You are standing here as a magic knight, being weak is nothing to be ashamed of, but staying weak is!" Fuegoleon told Noelle.

'That's right, Asta doesn't have any magic but he is getting stronger' Noelle thought as she saw 2 of it sneaked behind Asta and the little girl without them realising. It was too late when Asta realise it, but suddenly a water dome cover the little girl. 'This magic... it is Noelle's magic' Asta thought and he saw Noelle standing at a distance "Asta, don't worry. I will help you protect the girl, just focus on the fight! Please don't die, I need you..." Noelle told Asta. A horde of corpses went towards Asta, 2 flames went beside Asta. "I will back you up, rival! Get that monster and show me your power!" Leopold said "Thank you Noelle, Leopold! I am going to show you anyways!" Asta went into a stance

"Hey nii-san, he said the magic that hit you was made from curse. You can try to cut your wound to stop from bleeding." Liebe suggested before the man made 'Jimmy' fire more curses at Asta. Asta used demon dweller to cut his wounds and a black substance came out. "Heh, now I can fight properly." Asta said as he smirked, he rushed towards 'Jimmy' and he swung demon slayer at 'Jimmy', splitting the corpse in half.

The man summoned another corpse that is without arms and legs, it is also wrapped with bandages. "Number 2, Alfred. You can't attack him with anti-magic while he is floating right? That means your attack won't work!" The man shouted as he summoned another corpse with some weird maguc for Noelle and Leopold "That us for both of you!"

Asta was exhausted from the blood loss, 'Alfred' was preparing the attack. Then suddenly fire burnt 'Alfred' into crisps. The man was shocked, 'He burn 'Alfred' just like that. He is...' he thought.

"Sorry for disturbing your fight. For a magicless peasant, you fought pretty well. I hate to admit it but Yami has better foresight is better than mine." Fuegoleon walked up to Asta "Asta, isn't it? You said you wanted to become the wizard king. Then you are my rival. Leave the rest to me" Fuegoleon release some flame around him. "So this guy is Fuegoleon Vermillion." The man smirked. "Who are you" Fuegoleon asked "6 years ago, I was the top choice for a magic knight squad. The name is Rades." The man named Rades said. "What?" Fuegoleon is confused

"You don't remember don't you? I wasn't important enough for you all to get attention." Rades said as Fuegoleon remembered before Fuegoleon ask him, he answered him. "They expelled me from the squad and country. I'm better than a noble, better than anyone. Wasn't magic is everything? That's why I am going to avenge myself against those fucking useless magic knights and the country! I'm doing this with my power!" Rades shouted "For a childish reason, you've-" Fuegoleon was cut of by Rades

"Number 1, Carl!" He summoned another corpse which is wearing a robe like clothes (ngl it looks like chinese traditional clothes) "That's the thing about reasons, they are always simple you know?"

"Sorry for not going to be able to control the flames."

Flame creation magic: Leozenas

A beam of flame shot at Rades and the corpse. "Carl was a defense expert when he was alive. I added my curse magic and made him stronger." Rades said with a sadistic smile as Asta started to panic. Fuegoleon noticed it "Asta, calm yourself and watch carefully." Fuegoleon said "WHY ARE YOU ACTING SO CALM! THIS GUY DOES MORE THAN DEFENSE!" Rades yelled as 'Carl' created some attack spell and shoot at Fuegoleon. Fuegoleon opened his grimoire as he flipped to a page

Flame creation magic: Ignis Columna

Flames surrounded him and blocked the attacks. "Trying to match barrier spell with 'Carl' huh" Rades saying proudly "I certainly can't touch you or your doll but..."

Flame magic: Sol linea

A blue beam shot at 'Carl's' chest, then he was ignited with flames. "In your instant attack, the mana of your barrier became thin for a moment. I meet with difficult magic everyday. LISTEN WELL, YOU ARE MAGIC KNIGHTS, YOU WILL FIND YOURSELVES CONSTANTLY PITIED AGAINST THE POWERFUL ENEMIES AND MAGIC! WHEN IT HAPPENS, YOU MUST BE CALM AND A STRONG FIGHTING WILL, SO YOU WILL NEVER LOSE!" Fuegoleon gave them a lecture right after he explained to Rades about 'Carl's' weakness. He face back at Rades with a fierce look "EVEN YOU POSSESS PHENOMENAL ABILITIES AND MASTER THEM TO THEIR LIMIT. WITHOUT A SPIRT, THEY ARE NOTHING BUT VIOLENCE! THERE'S NO ONE WILL ACKNOWLEDGE SOMETHING LIKE THIS!"
