Chapter 11: Protecting The Village

Asta P.O.V. :

I saw a big ice coming towards us in a fast speed, I knew that Magna senpai couldn't stop it in time. I took out Demon Slayer and cut the ice into half and Liebe fly beside me, I'm now pissed. "You're going down, you scar face! Why are you doing so horrible things? Who are you guys?!" I shouted at the mages. They doesn't looks like the enemy spies out from the sticks, who are they? I have to figure out while fighting them. "We haven't heard that the magic knights members would be coming" "Are they on an unofficial mission? How did they break through our mist barrier and enter the village" the mages who are wearing the hood said it with confusion in their words.

Scar face looked at us and looked at the watch then he said "The Black Bulls... the ones who doesn't fit with the rest of the magic knights squad, huh? 5 minutes, the worthless villagers who didn't know anything. We'll finish them off quickly and look for what we seek." I activated a attack spell quietly and cautiously for not gaining the mages attention, then... "Anti-magic: Dark Sword!" Swords that are made out of anti-magic are floating in front of me and I sent the swords towards them by controlling the swords. The mages noticed the swords and they used their magic to block it. I know magic won't work on anti-magic so I don't need to worry that it won't get through the spells.

When my spell get pass theirs, they were shocked. I control the sword's force and managed to hit 2 mages unconscious. "Get'em big brother!" Liebe encouraged me "Why are you trying to attack the villagers?!" I shouted at the scar face who is aware of my anti-magic can negate and nullifies the attacks. "This village is in the forsaken realm which commoners dwell. Most inhabitants of the forsaken realm only can use weak magic spells and daily magic spells. They are like animals who are unable to do stuff. These dumb beasts would robe me from my time. I was trying to clear them away. You have enough magic to join the magic knights, don't you? You just simply trying to save them because it's your mission. Don't they look like pathetic animals even to you?" he really pisses me off  even Liebe know it "Those people are the ones that I want to need protect!" I shouted at the scar face, "I see, so you value these filthy beasts" he said back at me and open his grimoire to prepare to make create a spell.

"Ice and mist compound: Endless ice cage" It's too late to go towards them, they activate a combination spell that sharp ice pointing at us in every direction. "Can you protect these animals under the condition like this? I'm not partial to the word 'gradually' myself but this seems to be the most efficient way" that scar face mock us and starting to send the ice towards us. Dammit, I have not enough time to make the anti-magic shield. I hope Noelle that royalty can help us defend the whole place. I used demon slayer to deflect the ice as much as I could. The scar face dissolved the ice that was deflected by me. "You can repel the spell huh. But you can't defeat me like that though. I can make the ice forever. Go ahead and try to protect them." He made more ice and send towards us.

Magna senpai and I are the only one who are protecting the villagers, looks like Magna senpai is low on his mana. The opponent's level is at magic knight's level and scar face isn't serious at all. "Let's see how long can you last to protect them" that scar face really piss me off, I'm reaching my boiling point soon. I noticed Noelle shoot her water sphere towards the enemy, but her water sphere went to the other way. "I see one can't control her magic. Black Bulls must be a group of failure and useless magic knights. Weak beasts who can't even protect themselves... If you abandon them, you will survive, magic knights." I keep deflecting the ice until I've reached my limits, suddenly a water dome appears. Looks Noelle have a new spell and manage to control her magic. I went out side from the water dome that Noelle made and it's time for me to attack the scar face and his comrade, I'm gonna use two types of spells back to back, I should use devil binding chains and black swords. "Anti-magic: Black Swords!" I created the swords and send it towards scar face and his comrade "The same attack won't work on me again" scar face dodge my attack but he didn't know that it was a decoy to distract him so I can make the binding spell in time. I smirk "Let's see about that... Anti-magic: Devil binding chains!" pitch black chains appear and wrap around scar face and his comrade then I control black swords that I made earlier to knock them out. "One of them ran away" Magna senpai noticed one was hiding all the time has ran away. Dammit, I didn't realise that one was hiding "Yeah! You beat them, big brother!" Liebe appear and praised me. I'm so tired and exhausted, I sat down to catch my breath suddenly Nero came out from my robe. I didn't notice Nero is in my robe all the time, it came out and flew away. And Nero came back again with a stone in it's mouth and peck me "Ouch! ow ow ow ow! Stop it Nero!" I try to stop Nero from pecking me "Isn't that stone...?" one of the villager noticed the stone.

"Nero! Give the stone back to the villagers!" Nero flew away and I try to take the stone from it's mouth but nero doesn't want to let go. "It's okay, you can have it if you want. It was the chief's protective charm. You are our saviors! Thank you so much" one of the villager thanked us "Okay then, I'll keep it since Nero likes it!" Nero sat on my head and Liebe flew towards Nero, he also sit on my head and sitting beside Nero. Looks like Liebe likeeeees Nero, but Nero pecked him "Hey! Don't peck me! It's painful!" Liebe shouted. "One of you can come and sit on my head too" Noelle looked at them but they don't want to sit on her head, looks like she likes cute stuff.

Magna senpai noticed the scar face woke up, "I'm gonna take you all back to the kingdom and you're gonna pay what you did for losers! The magic knights are gonna make you talk. Who the heck are you and what do you want from the villagers?!" Magna senpai question him rudely "They won't" scar face replied Magna senpai and his stomach is glowing. Looks like he has a magic item inside him and self-destruct himself and his comrade. "I'm never gonna accept these guys. What do you think life is?!"

I saw a boy sitting alone beside the cliff looking at the sunsetting. "The villagers told me about your grandpa. They said he is the only one who stood up to protect you all from those guys. Your grandpa sure was awesome and brave!" I try to comfort him "A few days ago grandpa told me something, he looked really happy. He said he beaten some magic knights just at gambling but still he never took the test but grandpa would love to be a member of the magic knights and he always regretted it... he said he should have work harder when he was young. Do you think could I get into the magic knights although I'm a peasant?!" He looked determined "Sure you can! I'm a peasant too and I don't have a drop of magic and I passed the exam. You just have to work very hard because by the time you get into the magic knights, I will be working even harder to get closer to my dream that is being the wizard king. I'll be waiting for you, kid!" I cheer him up and took my fist and bump his chest. "Ow ow ow! Nero why are you pecking me?" Nero started pecking me again "I think it's because you were talking big, shrimpsta." said Noelle "Who are you calling shrimpsta?!" "Hahaha big brother got pecked by Nero!" Liebe is laughing so hard.

3rd person P.O.V. :

In a dark place, the one who ran way from the battle is kneeling at a person who is in front of a graph that is curved onto a stone "Heath did that? I see and the Black Bulls have the magic stones. We can whenever we like to do to them anytime we choose. The resurrection is at hand..." The person has the Golden Dawn insignia in the robe.

*Near Saussy Village*

A man who is wearing a hood was watching Asta and Black Bulls the whole time. "He is talented at fighting the opponent and Yami agrees that I can train him. Looking forward to train you, Asta..." The man mumbled and disappear in the shadows again.

Next chapter: Bah-ha's day. It's a filler chapter for reaching 1k, just planning for a little fun and I'm asking someone to work with me for the filler chapter.
