The thunderhawk shuddered from the stress of re-entry, Bunk let the blade of his sword rest on its floor. He looked at every chip, crack, scratch and other assorted battle damage. He remembered the reason behind every one. One was an aggressive tyranid warrior, another a chaos marine, his eyes fell on the chip from a rather fast Howling Banshee. That one brought a smile to his face, she had been fast, not fast enough though. Bunk looked at Kranx, who sat across from him. The Reiver leaned back with his regular relaxed attitude, a Heavy Bolt Pistol was mag-locked to his thigh and a combat knife gleamed in his hands. "It's been a while since we did this." The skull faced marine remarked, Bunk nodded. "Too long."
The Thunderhawk touched down in a major urban settlement. It's massive engines roared with idle fury as it disgorged its cargo, Kranx's Reivers spread out and slinked into dark alcoves. Bunk and his Intercessors pressed forward, the complex was empty and silent. An ill omen. Once the pad was clear, Acrophysis exited. His white bulk an island among the grey armor of his brothers. "Innoak. Here." the giant said simply, and Bunk sliced a door apart with his sword. The halves fell apart with a clank, and as they fell away they revealed an unexpected surprise.
"Bunk? Throne of Terra how are you here?" Innoak asked, his eyes blinked rapidly almost as if Innoak believed his old friend a mirage. Innoak's armor was more ash grey than normal and covered in small scratches and burns, and he held a small girl in his arms. "Innoak! You look like battered grox!" Innoak moved quickly now, "I assume you brought a fleet?" He asked as he rushed by, racing towards the Thunderhawk. "I did. They are currently engaging the chaos fleet." Innoak sidled into a seat, still clutching the girl. "Call them back, I know what they want." Bunk hooked his harness in and cocked an eyebrow. "What?" Innoak hooked the girl in as well, and sat back as the rest of Bunk's men boarded. "I have a guess, but its educated."
The Thunderhawk sped with fury towards the strike cruiser in orbit, Bunk watched as his friend fussed over this mortal girl. To be fair he had always been a humanitarian, but this was unusual. "Who is she?" Bunk finally asked, and Innoak's response was short but explained much. "A very very valuable asset." Bunk nodded and waited for a minute before asking his next question. "What the hel happened?" He asked, not disguising his intention. "A long story, but I suppose we have a convenient amount of time." Innoak said as he began his long tale, starting with his arrival and assistance to the Rebellion. He explained the Princesses and Adora, earning a few chuckles from the arrayed Astartes. "I let you out of my sight and you've already gone on the wildest of adventures." Bunk said humorously, Innoak gave him a small grin. "How many warriors do you have?" Innoak asked, and Bunk sighed. "Only a few, Asbir's and Alanis's Intercessors, Vasz's Hellblasters, Val'gar's Aggressors and Kranx's Reivers. As well as Acrophysis and Pellitz." Innoak cocked an eyebrow. "Pellitz? Why is he here?" Innoak asked, the old man was often prone to laziness. "Pellitz came for the same reason we all did." Bunk reached out and placed a gauntlet on Innoak's shoulder. "To find our lost brother."
Lasers rained down on Bright Moon's magical shield, Catra watched the light show with mixed feelings. She was proud of her accomplishment, but concerned from where the inspiration had come from. It's name was Innoak. But Catra refused to name it by anything else than It. She had seen that thing move, fight, she'd even been in its sights for a hot minute. The power it wielded was terrifying, even more so than the princesses. Catra scoffed, princesses were nothing but breakfast to that thing. "Entrapta? Have you found a way to kill it yet? Entrapta? Entrapta!" After a minute of no answer Catra reached out to the guards stationed back at base, fearing the worst she contacted the 2 squads she sent to guard their rear. "F-Force Captain! We report heavy enemy contact, bot losses are climbing too! We need support!" The feedback from her badge mic made Catra shut it off, she roared in anger and pulled a squadron of tanks back to the rear. Leaving Lonnie in charge of the artillery. These princesses were really getting on her nerves.
Vandrok smashed a four-legged robot aside, it careened into one of its fellows and exploded. Lasers deflected from his armor and psychic shield. An outstretched hand silenced any who dared fire at him. Behind him his men unloaded warp tainted munitions into the hordes of metal. They fell apart from miniature explosions and chain blades. Vandrok himself called upon his sorcery to break the very ground these arachnids walked on, rock touched by his power entered the round bodies of these machines. Dozens died. Vandrok entertained himself with the slaughter of the mechanical spiders. Soon, they were all gone and Vandrok found himself pining for a good fight again. "Forward my brothers, battle awaits for the glory of the Prince!"
