Innoak was alive. He swung and spun, every strike of his sword aimed to destabilize and debilitate. Catra was comatose in her seat, his psychic assault having done its job. So he tore everything apart, planks shredded and their splinters severed cables and fingers. Helmet visors broke and the soft faces underneath were rendered blind by an output of light. Lasers danced about his psychic shielding and his iron halo, a volkite beam cleanly severed a mutant's hand as it charged him. Finally a worthy foe approaches, a mutant with arms like that of a crustacean and a tail that secreted a paralyzing agent. Innoak scryed the mutant, discovering something unusual. This one was new, special. A faint connection to the warp, as well as a soul of radiant gold. He needed more time to properly investigate, Innoak roared and brought his foot down on the deck. Sending his power through the boat and shaking everything for a 50 meter radius, water rippled and soldiers bowled over. Innoak grasped the time given to him and exploited it. He looked into the new one, Scorpia. She was loyal, blindingly so. Her personality reminded him much of his father chapter, the Salamanders.
Catra looked on in a state of delirium as Scorpia shakily stood up between the knight and her. Catra laughed softly, Scorpia was too nice for the harsh world around her. Naivety clouded her judgement and a blind loyalty to those who didn't even like her held the big girl back. Slowly, Catra too stood. The outpouring of energy from the knight did little to her, only succeeding in making a determined Catra stumble. Catra steeled herself and slid down the side of the ship, landing on the deck and facing her tormentor. Scorpia looked back at her with wide eyes, surprised for a moment but soon giving her a grin. Together, the two not friends stood shoulder to shoulder against a foe they couldn't hope to match.
Innoak admired their bravery, but courage can run dry in the face of overwhelming fear. So he dedicated his psychic might to fear. As the two circled him they noticed his silhouette morph, he encircled himself in an envelope of shadow. Leaving only space for his bright red eye lenses to peer out. Soon the Space Marine's entire body was coated in a sheen of darkness, he disguised his limbs and weapons in a roiling mass of black. Scorpia and Catra both hesitated, and Innoak gave them no room to recover. He needed to separate them, isolate them. So he bisected the ship. A force sword thundered down, backed by his might he had to let the shroud fall for a second while he outputted the energy necessary to separate reality itself. The two jumped away from each other in the wake of the ship's dissection, and he smiled. Catra had noticed his weakness.
The giant had to let his shadow field fall when he swung his weapon! Catra's tail puffed up instinctively at the revelation, if she could get Scorpia to attack the giant and get him to use his power on her Catra would be able to breach it's defenses. Luckily, Scorpia roared and charged the giant head on immediately after the ship was cut. Catra grinned wildly as she jumped from the ship's side and speared towards the giant, then she was arrested. Confusion reigned within her as movement slowed and then stopped completely. She felt a crushing sensation around her windpipe, slowly life was drained from her with every breath. The eye lenses of the knight glowered at her with disdainful glee, "I will delight in your death, it will be very beneficial fo-" the giant was interrupted by a loud shout rising above the din of clashing waves and creaking metal.
It was Adora.
