Dream POV

It was around 7:30 AM. and George still hadn't gone outside his room. I didn't want to interrupt him after only knowing him for a day, but on the other hand it wouldn't be fun to be late for his first day either.

I leaned my ear up against the door to see if I could hear anything from inside, nothing. After hearing nothing I made the decision to just knock, nothing again. We had to leave soon so I decided to put the door ajar to look inside a bit. Opening the door entirely I saw George on the right side of the room leaning against the doorframe to his bathroom.

My eyes swiftly scanned his body with a plastered smirk on my face. He was wearing only a white towel that was wrapped around his small delicate body. I had a thing for small fragile things, one wrong move and they'll break. A strong feeling of having to protect him from all evil formed in me.. for some reason. I probably just really wanted to be his friend, nothing else.

Our eyes connected and I sensed that he was either uncomfortable or just surprised that I'd entered his room.

"I- what are you doing in here?"

He covered himself with his arms and looked away signaling for me to leave.

"We have to go soon so get dressed and meet me downstairs in 10 minutes"

I turned around till I reached the door and said.

"Next time don't try and cover up, you're pretty you know"

Closing the door behind me I reflected back on what I just said. Why did I say that? It wasn't incorrect but I'm not gay... And I have a girlfriend. Not that she meant anything to me though.

Melissa (just a random name - not a real person) and I had been together since we were 13. We met in the cafeteria.

I was standing in a queue waiting for my turn to get the food. The cafeteria lady was always mad and never had enough food for everyone.

"NEXT!"

She gave me the last cookie which I was temporarily happy about. The girl after me asked for a cookie. When she realised there wasn't any left a sad expression appeared on her face. I felt extremely bad for her so I offered her mine, which she happily accepted. She jumped in joy and said something along with.

"Thank you sooo sooo much! My names Melissa, come sit with me"

I followed her and from that day on I was a part of her friend group, and later on we became girlfriend and boyfriend. It was ok at first but later turned out to be the worst decision I could've ever made.

I was sitting in my car waiting for George when I saw the front door open, revealing a small figure coming towards the car. He sat down as I placed my foot on the speeder and began driving. There was a comfortable silence till I interrupted it.

"Are you excited for today?"

He shrugged and kept his eyes on the things outside the window. I was a bit nervous to introduce him to my friend group, not because I didn't think they were gonna like him, just because Melissa is a part of that friend group and for some reason I didn't want him to meet her. One the swift side I couldn't wait to see how he and my other friends would be around eachother.

We had reached the school where I parked the car in my usual parking spot. I opened the door for George and couldn't help but notice his hesitation to get out. He seemed tense so I rested a hand on his back to show my support. George tensed even more up at first but eventually relaxed into my touch.

My parents had made a deal with the school so George and I shared all my classes together, so he wouldn't risk being all alone. Our first class was over fast and we went to the cafeteria. George looked a bit confused until I guided him to my table or what people would call "The popular kids table" personally I just hated that name. It consisted of me, Melissa, Laura (also just a random person), Sapnap and Bad.

Sapnap and I were childhood friends and I practically would trust him with my life, whereas Bad kinda just started hanging out with us but was still important for the rest of the group. I didn't like Melissa nor Laura but I couldn't break up with Melissa even if I wanted to.

He sat next to me when we both noticed everyone's eyes were pinned on George. I felt his leg start bouncing up against mine and I unintentionally laid my hand on his thigh, to calm his nerves and said.

"This is George, the exchange student I talked about. He's gonna stay with me for the next year"

Everyone smiled at him and returned back to their previous conversations, except for Melissa who gave me a nasty look and opened her mouth.

"Sooo Dream, and I guess Geroge.. I'm throwing a party tonight, make sure to come. My names Melissa by the way"

I honestly didn't want to. Everytime I go to a party with her something bad happens, but I can't decline. She has information that could possibly make my life a living hell.

"We'd love to, yeah?"

I questioned Geroge hoping he would just say no, but unfortunately not.

"Sure why not"

Melissa gave us a half smile and turned back to talk to Laura who was sitting beside her. All of a sudden I remembered the hand I'd rested on George's lap a while ago that I hadn't moved yet. To my surprise George seemed more comfortable around the group after I'd placed my hand on him, so I decided not to move it for now.

"Hey George, wasn't it?"

A familiar voice asked the brunette

"I'm Sapnap also known as Dreams best friend"

George turned his head to look at Sapnap.

"Yes, cool. Did you say your name is Sapnap??"

"Well yeah, but no. My real names Nick but friends call me Sapnap"

He reassured him, then proceeded to take another bike from the sandwich he was eating.

George made me jump a little in my seat when he poked my shoulder to ask me something. Out of reflex I pulled my hand off of his thigh, immediately regretting it.

"Can I ask you a question?"

He looked at me with big bambi eyes and a genuine expression on his face. I nodded and listened carefully to him whispering a question in my left ear.

"How do you know Melissa?"

That kinda killed my mood but at the same time I knew I'd have to tell him at some point, even if I didn't want to. I debated if I wanted to tell the truth or a complete lie. Eventually I decided to answer truthfully.

"She's my girlfriend of... 4 years"

I could sense him get disappointed which made me kinda glad, I just couldn't lie to him. It was silent for a while until he finally said something again.

"I'm gonna leave for a second, see you next class huh?"

I didn't get to answer him fast enough before he was already out of sight. I hope it wasn't anything to do with what we talked about, even though I liked the thought of him getting jealous, there was absolutely no reason for it whatsoever.
