you jerked as the glass crashed against the wall, shattering into a thousand pieces. your eyes widened in shock, heart skipping a beat and you were paralyzed for a second.

"for fucks sake, y/n!" eno shouted, ruffling his hair angrily. you took your time to regulate your breathing, your thoughts crossing over. your lips parted, but not one sound was able to come out except a shocked gasp.

you could just stare at him, like an antelope would stare at a lion milliseconds before running off, blank fear in her eyes. "w-what?" you stammered, voice as shaky as the rest of you. you didn't dare to take a step towards him, afraid that your legs would actually turn into jelly. but that wasn't the only thing that was stopping you.

"i spent my WHOLE night...explaining that shit to you!" he shouted, apparently the volume of his voice could still increase. you frowned, absolutely confused about the reason of this escalation.

"yeah, i know. and i'm thankful for tha-" you started, but his burning glare set your upcoming words on fire so that it would hurt too much to continue. "AND ALL THAT FOR YOU TO GET A FUCKING 77?!" he literally screamed, making you flinch once more.

you blinked at him, overloaded with the whole situation. a 77 score wasn't that bad, was it? at least not if one considered that you'd had only 30's and 40's until now.

you were thankful for him tutoring you last night, explaining everything important over and over again, more or less patiently. but apparently, eno wasn't as glad as you were.

he looked so disappointed, it hurt you to the core. when you'd gotten your test back, you'd been proud of yourself, eager to tell him the good news. now, you knew better.

"i-i'm sorry, i..." you murmured, head lowered. "as you should be! i totally wasted my time on you" he complained, throwing his hands in the air. you felt small and vulnerable all of the sudden, as well as shattered like the glass whose pieces were spread all over the floor.

an aggressive groan was to be heard from eno's side of the room, causing you to swallow hard. "i'm sorry...i-i will do better next time. i didn't mean to upset you..." you apologized, stuttering. he ruffled his hair once again.

the boy just hummed, but didn't seem convinced neither did it look like he was accepting your apology or anything. "i think you should leave" he instructed you, his voice not allowing any contradiction.

but i just got here, you thought. yet, your stomach was rumbling and every nerve of you wanted to leave anyway. you never thought you'd be this scared of him, your boyfriend.

since when was he like this? he always had high expectations of you, but he'd never escalated like this when you couldn't meet them, at least not to this extent. you'd been together for a little more than three months now.

he was probably just having a bad day.

you shut the door carefully, afraid that any noise would just irritate him more.

he apologized the next day, made it up with a tight hug and a kiss. but it should not always be like this in the future.

the pencil poked your skin only faintly, but it was enough to pull you out of your thoughts. you blinked, rubbing the barely hurting spot with your thumb. "ow" you mumbled, giving saya an offended side glare.

"are you good?" she whispered, eyes focused on the teacher so that she won't not get caught when talking. "yeah, why?" you replied, index finger tapping on your test in a random rhythm.

"you've stared at your test for five minutes straight now..." saya pointed out, resting on her chin on her palm while looking at the blackboard, feigning attention. "what did you get?"

"seventy-seven." saya turned her head, genuinely surprised. "that's good, isn't it?" she made sure, because your eyes didn't really show happiness.

'i totally wasted my time on you!'

you just hummed, turning the sheet of paper around for it's printed side to face the table. your mother would react equally to saya, first pride and then confusion about why you weren't proud as well.

the bell rang, therefore ending the lesson. but not math. "EVERYBODY! SIT. THE FUCK. DOWN. THE TEACHER ENDS THE LESSON!" the teacher shouted, his words echoing through the classroom. everyone froze.

"then what the fuck is the bell for?" saya groaned, face planting on her desk. you cracked a smile, leaning back and analyzing the trees outside the big windows until you all were finally free to leave.

"maaan, that guy sure has a stick up his ass!" saya complained, loud enough for some others to hear but not the teacher. you chuckled and she hooked on your arm. you guys were equally tall, yet saya's normal walking pace was a little faster than yours which was why you always slowed her down a bit.

„did you study for it?" she asked, brushing her hair behind her ears while dragging you around aimlessly. eventually, you two sat down on one of the staircases. you shook your head in denial.

„no time. there was your party occupying my weekend, remember?" you implied, smiling about her forgetfulness. but saya was busy with being amazed. „woah! you seriously didn't study? that's amazing, y/n!" she exclaimed, genuinely happy.

you smiled, unable to maintain your indifferent mood. „thank you." she poked your cheek, nudging your arm even tighter. „i'm very proud of you" she said with a soft voice. you just looked at her for a second, before giving her a peck on the cheek. „i love you."

saya giggled, obviously satisfied with the situation. if it wouldn't have been for her, you'd have lost yourself in your relationship with eno. saya'd been you lifeline, always dragging your out of that endless downwards spiral with pep-talks and the affection you were missing.

„so, about the party... i said i'd check on you, but you were gone soon. did you leave early?" not only because she'd been your best friend for years now, but because it was unmissable for every outsider, she noticed the pink shade that flushed your cheeks all of the sudden.

„i uhhh...found a friend?" you shrugged your shoulders, fiddling your fingers nervously while staring at your feet. „why's that a question? who was she, do i know her?" saya grilled you, pure interest driving her.

you were an antisocial and usually more introverted soul, not the type to approach people. yet, quite the opposite when drunk, so nothing was to be excluded. you could also have befriended a dog.

„it's actually...a he" you replied, more a mutter into your hand. saya's eyes went wide in amazement. „a guy?! oohhh, tell me, tell me, what's his name?" she continued questioning.

you let out a sigh, the past event flashing by your inner eye, how cold and distant your goodbye with suna had been compared to your little grocery trip during which you'd been quite comfortable.

the thought of his clothes, washed of course, that were still chilling in the bag behind your door, ready to be picked up, crossed your mind.

„suna. rintarou."

silence.

„you're joking, right?"
