Punishing My Baby Girl

I walked in the house still mad that I had to help a lady that almost killed a child. when we got in the house I heard laughing coming from upstairs which made me smile because my baby girl got her best friend back. Nicki and I went upstairs to Delilah's room and saw Jacob tickling baby girl, at first I wasn't mad at all that is until I saw them lean in to each other and kiss.

Me: "What in the world do ya'll think y'all are doing?!" I yelled. Jacob hurriedly got off of her and sat on the floor looking scared. My face got red with anger and rage and I stormed towards Delilah gripping her by her arm and dragged her to the closest room. Nicki and Jacob ran behind me but I didn't care. Baby girl needs to learn how to not be so fast with boys so She was going to get a spankin'. Of course I wasn't going to spank her, I was going to have Nicki do it because I don't believe that a man should hit their child especially a girl because of how much harder a man hits. I let go of Delilah and she was already crying which made me feel bad because I knew I probably hurt her arm but she had to get her punishment.

Me: "Delilah I will not be the one to spank you, your mama will so I suggest u get ready because your mama don't play no games. I hope you learn your lesson to NEVER let a boy kiss u until your the proper age." I said. I went out of the room trying to calm myself down. If this happened any other day I probably would have put her on time out but right now I'm not feeling no type of grace. I looked at Nicki and she looked just as mad as I was. She was always stricter me.

Me: "Nicki when u spank her make sure she learns her lesson but don't hurt my baby girl too bad." I said patting her on the shoulder walking downstairs and out the house to get some fresh air. I took a walk and took out my phone and my earplugs listening to some music to help me calm down. Then one of my songs came on and I started singing along. I wasn't paying attention and I walked in the street and a car came up out of no where and almost hit me. That was close. I went back to the side walk turning off my music saying a prayer the rest of the way.

Me: "Dear Heavenly Father I thank you for this day, I praise that you helped me out back there and didn't let that car hit me. I love you so much and I know you love me and I pray that you will guide me through the path of righteousness and faithfulness and that you will keep me safe for the rest of this lil walk. I love you Lord. In the name of Your Perfect, Pure, and Holy Son, Jesus Christ, Amen." I said out loud and walked the rest of the way back home listening to gospel music.

I walked in the room where Delilah was and saw my baby laying on the floor crying. Of course I wasn't going to spank her, I was just going to lecture her and tell August I just couldn't do it. I went over to Delilah and she scooted away from me looking scared. I smiled a sad smile at her and reassured her that I wasn't going to spank her. She ran up to me and hugged me still crying.

De: "Mommy I'm scared." she said a little bit above a whisper. I rubbed her back.

Me: "What are you scared of baby?" I asked looking down at her.

De: "I'm scared that daddy will spank me since you didn't." She said, looking at me with tears in her eyes. I shook my head. Me and August are really gonna have to talk because to much is going on and my brain is on overload. I heard the front door open but knowing it was probably just August I decided to continue to hold my baby. August really scared her bad. Jacob came in and rubbed Delilah's back causing Delilah to hug him. Well dang how you gone choose your Bestfriend over the Woman who gave birth to you. I shook my head but smiled at their cuteness. To be honest, I wasn't even mad when we caught them kissing. I thought it was cute and the only reason why I was so mad was because the way August grabbed Delilah. I didn't refuse when August told me to spank Delilah because let's just say he has to take pills when he's mad or upset, and I hope he don't get mad when I tell him I didn't spank her.

Me: "Jacob, who was that who walked in the door?" I asked he looked at me and whispered,

Jacob: "It was just Mr August, and shhh she's sleeping." He said with his finger over his mouth. I chuckled, isn't he just the cutest little boy?

Me: "You might want to move before August comes up here." I whispered to him, he nodded and started getting up but Delilah grabbed the back of his shirt. He looked down at her and kissed her forehead. He whispered something in her ear and sat down next to me. August finally decided to come upstairs so I hurried out the room and caught him in the hallway.

Me: "Hey baby!" I said, putting my hands on his chest stopping him from going inside of the room.

August: "Did you do it?" He asked me with an eyebrow raised. I hugged his waist trying to change the subject.

Me: "Babe I missed you so much." he unwrapped my arms from around him and looked at me with a blank face.

August: "Onika don't try to change the subject. Did you or did you not beat her?" He said. I shook my head no.

Me: I'm sorry August but I couldn't do it. Please don't hurt her, she is scared to death of you and she has a big purple bruise on her arm." I was kind of scared he was going to yell at me or even hit me.

August: "I ain't gonna beat her but we will have to punish her." He said patting me on the head. I looked at him like he was crazy. Do I look like a dang dog? I shook my head and told him to stay in the hallway just in case the kids was hugging or something. I peeped through the cracked door and saw them lying down next to each other. I tapped the wall to get Jacob's attention. He looked at me and I motioned for him to move over so that August doesn't freak out. when he moved, August and I went in the room and August tried to go over to Delilah but I stopped him.

me: "August, please whatever you do, don't be to rough with her. You don't want to make her even more afraid of you."

August: "Baby I got this." August said, going inside the room. Once he woke Delilah up she started kicking and screaming for him to get away. I started walking towards them but Jacob stopped me and told me that he had to do this by himself. I nodded and continued to watch.

I felt so bad when she started screaming and kicking, I didn't know what to do so I just held her close to me but she kept squirming around screaming and begging for me not to beat her.

"Delilah please stop, I'm not gonna beat you. I would never hurt you, Babygirl!" I said raising my voice a little so she could hear me over all of her screaming and squirming.
She stopped and looked at me to make sure I wasn't lying I guess. She then hugged me tight and I stroked her long hair which was flat ironed.

"Daddy please don't scare me like that again. I thought you were going to hurt me like Jacobs mom did to him." Delilah said, still crying. I looked at her and shook my head letting her know I would never do that.

"You still have to be punished." I said making Delilah tense up. "Relax I was just gonna take away your dolls and your tablet." I said chuckling. She calmed down but she started whining.

"Daddy, please not my dollies. Me and Jacob are gonna be so bored." Delilah whined. I laughed and shrugged. Now I don't have to punish Jacob. Looks like I just killed two birds with one stone.
