Mackenzie's POV

"Mackenzie," she says. "Are you there? Answer, please, I need to speak to you."

I pull the phone away from my ear and gape at Harry.

He mouths 'what's she saying?'. I shake my head and mouth 'later'.

I place the phone next to my ear once again, contemplating on whether I should speak up, or just wait till she disconnects the call.

"Hello?" she sighs and disconnects the call.

I sigh in relief and collapse onto my pillow. I pop one eye open to see Harry smiling sincerely down at me.

"She wants me to meet her." I blurt out. "But she didn't say where, and I'm pretty sure she doesn't know I'm in Japan with you guys."

"Well, are you gonna meet her, or what?" he asked.

Good question! Should I, or I shouldn't?

"I really don't know, Harry." I get up and fix my hair.

"Maybe I should." I admit. "But then I'll have to fly back to New York."

"But -" he stopped and just gave me a agreeing smile. "Yeah, I'll miss you though."

I frown and kiss him. He gasps and moves backwards.

"Is your fever gone yet?" he exclaims.

I laugh and nod. "Yeah! It has, don't worry!"

He burst into laughter and pulls me into a tight hug. I moan and clutch onto him tighter. Problem is: I really don't want to leave the boys. I'll miss them way too much.

But I know I have to do this. No matter how violent my mother could be, I have to be true to her, and myself, by hearing out whatever proposal she has in mind.

I just hope it's one that I actually want to hear.

As I pack my suitcase, my mind flips to the pages I have written down in my memory.

I can't believe after all this time, she wants to see me. And now of all times!

When I'm on tour with Harry and the boys! Talk about unfair.

Then again, she doesn't really know where I am staying. Just my number, which I really should change.

A knock on my door snaps me out of my self-consuming and worrisome thoughts.

The person who enters gives me a heartwarming smile, while coming up to me, giving me a lovable hug.

I pull away, grinning widely. "Thanks so much, Hazza! I really needed that!"

He smiles. "S'alright, babe! It's cause I love you, and I want you to be safe."

He cups my cheeks, making me blush. Yes, I know that I should be used to all his gestures by now ... because, well, we're dating, and all that. But I can't help but feel all ... jittery inside.

"Make sure to call me if you need anything, and I promise when you reach New York, the whole 'Nadine and I dating' rumour will be over!"

I nod, planting a kiss on his oh so bittersweet lips. Gosh, I just wish I could stay in that position all day.

But of course, I have to be able to breathe, so yeah! I can't, and neither can he. Tragic, I know.

"I'll miss you so much, Mack!" he moans. "Don't leave, I'll be all alone in bed!!!"

I giggle at his precious yet utterly ridiculous and adorable comment. "Well, I'll miss you too! A lot! I'll make sure to contact you and tell you everything."

"And I'll text you and tell you if we ever move to another place," he replies.

"OK! I hope to keep in touch with you." I cup his cheek, pressing my lips to his.

I just hope this wasn't our last kiss.

The plane ride was hella annoying! I mean, come on! Why would anyone want to sit next to a 30 year old fat man snore as loud as a truck's engine?

Let me tell you, not me! And I am so beat! So, the first thing I do when I get to New York is:

Ring Tori's doorbell.

When she opens the door and finds me with four bags and one suitcase in my hand, the first thing she does is scream. And obviously, that made me drop my bags and close my ears to protect my eardrums from bursting.

"OMG! STFU!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!!!" she screeches, shaking my shoulders back and forth. "YOU'RE BACK, YOU'RE BACK, GOSH, YOU'RE BACK!!!"

And after a marathon screaming, lugging my bags, questions, and even more screaming, we settle down and have some cold coffee.

"So, let me get this straight!" she puts her mug on the coffee table in front of her. "You only came back because you're mother wants to try talking to you? Didn't you get kidnapped last time?"

I sighed, nodding. "I don't even know why I want to talk to her, let alone see her again. Maybe, I ... I don't know. Maybe I want to see what she has to say?"

She frowns and sips her coffee. "So ... you didn't come to see your friends you've known for, like, forever!?"

I laugh and get up, crushing her in a hug.

"Showwy!" I apologize in a baby voice.

"It's OK! If my boyfriend was famous, I'd definitely spend more time with him than my friends! No offense though!"

"Just so you know," I whisper, smirking. "I'm not setting you up with Niall."

"Hey!" she exclaims, smacking my arm.

Just then, my phone starts ringing.

Why do I feel like it's her again?

When I checked the caller ID, it was her. Damn it, can't she leave me alone!?

I disconnect the call and sent her a text. I just know that my world is about to come crashing down.

I'm coming.
