Harry's POV

After my text, she never replied. It's like she's disappeared off the face of the earth. She won't return my calls, my Skype calls, my texts, and I can't even seem to contact her brother!

Gosh, I just want to know what's keeping her away from me. I hate having to see her in pain, especially when I'm not certain to the cause of it.

If it was a person, I'd gladly tie them down until they apologize to her. Of course, I'm a lover, not a fighter, so I wouldn't beat anyone up. I hate bloodshed, it's pointless!

But, if it was to protect my sweet and innocent (okay, somewhat innocent, not all) Mackenzie, then I'd even take a jump off a cliff in order to see a smile on her face.

I then decide to call up one of her friends, Cassy, to see if she's heard anything of Mack's whereabouts.

"Cassy?" I say.

"Hey, Harry!" she exclaims. "What's up!? And wait, how do you even have my number!? Are you stalking me, or something!? Because, if so, you should know that I have a gun!"

"Whoa, Cassandra, calm down!" I chuckle. "Mack gave me your number if I ever can't contact her directly!"

"Sorry to say, but I'm not in Canada, I'm in Birmingham right now." she sighs. "But I did talk to her yesterday, she seemed really upset!"

I KNEW it!

"Oops!" Cassy added. "I-I mean, s-she was awesome! Never better, 100%! You know, she even stopped being lonely! In fact, her siblings are keeping her company, a-and -"

She continued to blabber on till I decided to disconnect the call.

Okay, I really need a more reliable friend that doesn't blabber as much as Cassy.

Tori could be the one.

She picked up on the first ring. "Hey, Harry! I was just talking to Ma - I mean, hey! What's up!? Well, let me tell you, it's not the sky! Well, it actually is, but -"

Once again, I had to end the call because the girl was talking gibberish just like the other one.

Great! Mack's friends sure know how to keep her secret. And also how to talk a lot!

In the end, I decided to give up and to watch television with the three boys.

"Hey!" Liam greets me. "Talk to her yet?"

I shake my head, letting it fall into my hands as I take a seat next to Niall.

"She isn't answering my calls." I sigh, running my fingers through my hair. "I've tried everything, but no. She refuses to tell me whatever the matter is."

Who the hell will tell me!? I just know it won't be her brother, or her friends, or her sisters either. But ...

What if her brother's girlfriend told me? It could be possible, I mean, she isn't a really secretive type of person. I just have to be smooth and I'll know everything I need to know.

I quickly get up and rush into my room. Grabbing my cell phone, I dial my friend who'll help me get Lucas' girlfriend's number.

"Hello?" I say. "Dude, I need a favour from you."

Mackenzie's POV

Lying down on my bed for an hour, waiting for a call from Harry was getting me nowhere, so instead, I decide to go shopping with Crystal.

As we were at the mall, some of the girls standing around us started screaming, while others started to glare.

Disturbing fact: they were all looking in my direction.

"Why?" I whisper to Crystal.

Then the truth hits me, like a bonk on my head from a baseball bat. Harry.

"I'm pretty sure you already know why," she smiles, continuing to walk.

I scurry past all the girls and head into the nearest shop with Crystal.

Inside, we look at random clothes, and end up buying almost half the shop. Believe me when I say Crystal adores clothes and is hella rich!

While Crystal tried on different outfits, looking astonishing in all, I tried to text Harry.

Something I hadn't done in a really long time. The duration has been over a week, and I'm pretty sure he has some new fling by now.

Come on! Like I actually stood a chance against all those blonde bimbos and sluts out their. To be frank, maybe he's back together with Nadine.

I mean, it has been a week since she tried to get me to dump Harry. Maybe she succeeded in doing vice versa.

Without any realization, tears flooded down my cheeks. I didn't notice them till they fell on to my screen, shocking me.

Rubbing them away, I quickly send the most remotely normal text to Harry as possible.

Hey! - Mack

Okay, I admit, I could have tried harder, but with tears veiling your vision, it's impossible to write anything that makes sense.

A phone call disrupts my thoughts. Only it's not my phone that's ringing, it's Crystal's.

"Hello?" she greets, smiling. Her smile quickly merges into a frown as she nods over and over again to whatever the person on the other line tells her.

Soon enough, she's standing in front of me as I gaze up at her, wondering whoever so is this mysterious individual that is conversing with my brother's soon-to-be-wife, even though she's in the dark and totally oblivious.

"Don't you think you should talk to her yourself, Harry?" she mutters, sending a jolt down my spine.

Harry!? Is this MY Harry she's talking to? But ... how does he have her number? Why is he talking to her? Why not me? Why ...

Questions tangled themselves like a web in my brain, making me dizzy. What is Harry up to?

"Good decision, she'll talk to you now," as those words leave her mouth, she bends down and places her cell in my hands, and puts both her hands on my shoulders, giving me a slight shake.

"Talk to him," she whispers. "He's worried, and he loves you. Please."

A nod and she walks away, giving me distance. Taking in deep breaths, I place the phone to my ear and breathe out the name I've been craving to say.

"Harry."

"Mackenzie!" he exclaims happily, happiness coursing through my mind. "It's been so, so long! I've missed you, babe! How are you?"

I let out a slight giggle at his worrisome tone, happy that he's such a sweet and concerned boyfriend.

"I'm ..."

I trail off, hesitating if whether I should bawl out my answer, or lie till I die.

"I'm ... fine, Hazza." I lie, plastering a smile on my face. "Perfectly fine! I've just been ... psh, really busy with school, and -"

"Don't lie to me!" he yells, startling me. "Babe, please, I love you. Why are you keeping secrets from me? I thought our relationship meant more to you than something as petty as secrets!"

"It does!" I cry, exiting the shop and making my way towards the parking lot. "Our relationship ship is the one thing that's most dear to me, and I can't ever afford to lose you! But -"

"But you still have to lie to me?" he muffles, sounding like he's about to have a breakdown.

Sighing, I start massaging my left temple with one hand, as the other holds the cell phone.

"I'm coming to Canada." he grumbles. "I'm coming to Canada, and I'm going to pry out these secrets of yours that you're hiding from me!"
"What!?" I exclaim. "Harry, no, let's be ra-"

But it was too late. He had disconnected the call.

I let out a high pitched screech, making everyone in the parking lot glare at me.

My life is definitely fucked up!
