Love From The Soul (Severus Snape x OC)

Chapter 18

Today was the day of the party, it had been announced to the students in advance the morning after Severus and I's serious conversation. Costumes were highly suggested but weren't mandatory and students were buzzing with excitement. Many of them didn't know who Jacer was but were still eager to experience Halloween in a new way. I personally couldn't wait, we had organized a little scary introductory line up of songs to properly set the mood before the main concert took place and everyone was pumped up. However I was also nervous, I was present in many of the first songs either directly or indirectly and I had never been on stage or publicly shown in his performances before, but I was mostly giddy about it. Dempsey had also participated, but he couldn't be there to witness everything live, but we found a way to include him nonetheless.

The great hall was being decorated and prepared, we had a few test runs and so far, things looked perfect. Kwartukka was also set to help during the entire concert, switching decors around mid performance and performing effects that would of only been possible had many people been hired to do it together. He was also there to ensure safety in the unlikely event that something would go horribly wrong. I had also decided to take Jason's suggestion and 'disguise' myself as a demon for the event. Kwartukka had helped me with everything, and made me look like a more developed demon. He also made sure to put a spell on me so that no one would ask questions should they ever notice how real it looked and wouldn't think about it.

Everything was now ready, and we gave the ok for students to start coming to the great hall for the event we dubbed : Nightmare Night. We were well hidden before the performance started, and it was due in only 15 minutes.

''Jace....what if I fuck up something...or Snape thinks I'm weird and won't talk to me anymore.''

He laughs. ''You got nothing to worry about 'zenia, everything is gonna be oki doki. We practiced and you were fine then.''

I look to the side with uncertainty. Jason puts a reassuring hand on my shoulder and looks me in the eyes.

''Alzenia, stop doubting yourself so damn hard, if he thinks you're weird after being this awesome tonight, he really ain't worth a minute of your lifespan, alright?''

I sigh heavily before smiling tentatively, he grins in return before going back to check on his equipment.

''Besides, for the first song none of us actually show up on stage, and I'm the one everyone is here to see, so don't worry about a thing.'' He says with his back to me.

''Hey, I'm not going to let you get all the glory tonight, I have some tricks up my sleeve.''

To that he turns his head to me and dons a playful smirk.

Snape P.O.V

As I had predicted, the headmaster put me on surveillance duty for their Nightmare Night. I usually detest loud events, but Alzenia had promised me something I had never experienced. We will see about that. When I arrived students, were already mostly present. It was almost too dark to see, but pools of fluorescent liquid lined the hall and formed a rainbow light show. Odd decision for a Halloween, but I suppose I will see what they have planned.

Only a few minutes passed before something finally occurred. Steam started flowing out of the walls and formed a cloud upon the stage. A deep piano started to play, and before I could assess anything else, something slammed down on top of the pools in rhythm to the piano and when they would lift, liquid of colors which matched the fluorescent pools, flowed out. I would be lying if I said it didn't at the least make my heart jump. Unexpected was the right word. 

Before I knew it, the steam cloud that had formed upon the stage expanded and it was almost like a screen. I saw the eldest Callidus appear into the mist, but he looked vastly different. He looked almost evil, how, it was beyond me, but he managed it in a way I never imagined a person of such personality could manage. What really took me off guard however is when he opened his mouth.
