A/N: Hello guys! Welcome to my first fanfiction for pokemon in quite a while. I kind of jumped back on the pokemon bandwagon... at least for now. An idea came to my head last month to write a story like this, and I decided, meh, that I'd do it! This is actually based around an Emerald Randomizer Nuzlocke I am currently playing. I had started writing a story for that one, making it revolve around Hoenn's past since I randomized the gyms too, but instead I'm posting this story instead of that one. I hope to write & finish that nuzlocke, but for now I wanted to write something fun.

I've written a lot of OC stories for pokemon, revolving around my OC that's related to Giovanni or Team Rocket in some way. I just kind of like the idea of being related to a mob boss or having a secret life? But those stories don't seem to resonate with anyone, which is why I don't write them, anymore. Unfortunately. Maybe one day I'll do it, but I'm tired of not getting a lot of comments and views on my pokemon stories.

Anyways, I decided to write this story for that reason, and I decided to post it since I have enough content to do so and I kind of like writing nonsensical stuff. I can stop the story at any time, which is nice, because it has no 'real' ending until I say so. I don't know if it'll end with their wedding... probably not. Maybe so. I don't know, yet. But this is a story set in the middle of a chaotic time in both Giovanni and Sylvia's life. A time where they are engaged, but the world around them seems to be against their marriage entirely. Where they have to communicate long distance, most of the time, and every other time their time together is short and limited.

I toss in some background stuff so no one gets too lost. I thought about how Giovanni's life was before his mother died, before Team Rocket truly got off the ground and became the terror of the pokemon world, that it seems to be these days, and before he became known as the strong Viridian City Gym Leader whose doors always seem to be locked, for some reason. Before Red or Ash's adventure, and before Silver was born. Before all of that, and that thought produced this story.

I'm going to put a better description of my OC in the next chapter, but for now enjoy the start of this new pokemon story of mine!

"Flygon. Do it again! Use earthquake!!" you shouted at the top of your lungs as your dragon/ground type 'mon roared and stomped her feet, trying her best to shake the ground you were standing upon, but compared to other earthquake 'mons in your disposal, hers would be considered more of a bulldoze or maybe even an earth power instead of earthquake.

But... that's why you're training your newly raised flygon one of your most trusted moves in battle. That's what it means to be an expert trainer, or rather... the sitting champion of a regional league. It's a lot of trainin' up pokemon in your spare time, trying to reach them to maximum levels so if you come across any real opponents then you won't be caught off guard. Over time, you've become known as a dragon and ground expert, switching between the two whenever it fits your fancy. Honestly, you just prefer dragon type 'mons on a far more personal level, but ground types hold a special place in your heart that you couldn't quite get rid of.

But regardless, keeping up with your training regiments is very difficult. You never realized how hard being a champion is until you made it to first place in the championships, and soon after, defeating the elite four and the former champion on a 6 vs. 6 battle. Ever since, you've been reigning undefeated for several years, but sadly it's come with a terrible cost.

Your social life, to be exact, especially your personal private life.

Still, the pay is relatively good and you cannot complain anymore. You were so poor back then, living on scrapes and whatever you could snatch from your earnings as a young trainer. If you hadn't run away from home you wouldn't be so strapped for cash, but then again if you hadn't run away then you wouldn't be here at all. Being a trainer wasn't seen as a 'real' profession by your father, and of course, like the asshole that he is, he was forcing you into the family business and disregarding your own hopes and dreams.
