*Heather's POV*
"Ok, since you don't really know about the whole high school food chain, who to hang out with, who to not hang out with thing, we're going to have to teach you. We need to work on your confidence and you have to be more assertive to survive high school," Rosie explains as we walk into art class.
"Well, I guess it could be fun," I state.
I look over at Chloe who looks majorly upset. Alyssa isn't in this class and this used to be our class where we would mock Rosie and Morgan when they messed something up. I guess those days are behind both of us now.
"Don't feel pity for her, Heather. She isn't worth it. If she really wanted to be your friend still, she would be on her hands and knees begging for you back. Is she doing that?" Rosie asks and I shake my head.
"No," I reply and she laughs.
"Exactly. She isn't worth your time so don't even think for a moment that she deserves your friendship ever again. She isn't worth it. She has moved on just like you," she adds and I look over at Rosie.
"You're right," I mutter.
"Plus, think about it, she was just pulling you down. She is a tomboy. You are more of a girly girl and there is nothing wrong with that. Hanging out with her was making you less confident. Now that you're with girls with the same personality and outlook on life as you, you can be unstoppable," Morgan explains with a smile. "Let us guide you in the right direction."
"I personally can't wait for the mall this Saturday. I think you have what it takes to be a popular girl like us. All you have to do is say something mean to Chloe at lunch today," Rosie explains.
"What do you mean?" I ask not realizing what I got myself into.
"Well, if you think about it, you can't be one of us if you don't put someone down at least once," Morgan states.
"Or a million times," Rosie adds with a giggle. Morgan laughs as well and I force a chuckle.
"I'll try," I state and Morgan laughs.
"Don't be scared about it. If you control the situation with power and confidence and without fear, no one can stop you," she states.
"Morgan is right. Do you remember when Sarah joined our group?" Rosie asks Morgan.
"Yes. Oh my gosh, she was such a coward," Morgan agrees with Rosie.
"Why are you insulting each other? Sarah is one of you," I exclaim and they laugh.
"You don't really know who to trust these days," Rosie states and the class begins.
All I can think about during art class is lunch. What am I supposed to say to Chloe? She already hates me for ditching her yesterday and looking and acting like Rosie and her group. I can't risk anything else. Then again, what do I have to lose? If she's already mad at me, there is no point of sugar coating anything.
The next few classes come and go and lunch is now here. I get my lunch and sit down with Rosie and the group.
"Ok, Heather, let's see what you got," Christina states and points over to Chloe walking over to the table I used to sit at. Alyssa is there as well.
I stand up nervously and walk over to Chloe.
"Do you want to leave Rosie's group and finally become one of us again?" Chloe asks bitterly.
"I would, but unfortunately, I don't sit with girls who don't know how to eat their lunch properly," I respond and grab a little of the spaghetti on her plate and throw it on her shirt. "Sorry," I add sarcastically and shrug condescendingly.
