The plan was probably easier said than done. They needed to make it to the other side of the courtyard, climb their way up to the second floor room where the security camera headquarters were located. Due to the embassadorial gathering recently, Link had temporarily moved it to Zelda's suite where he was situated so he could keep tabs on everything from his post, but if someone was hacking the cameras, they needed to go to the actual HQ.

If they were lucky and they got the cameras back, Link would be able to monitor the whole building from his phone. Not only would that give them a good idea of where most of the soldiers were in the Palace but it meant they could plan out the most safest route to the generator room.

Once there, Link knew it would take some time but he would have to patch himself back into the radio and hopefully the generator would give him a boost. Then it would just be a case of contacting the Hyrulian Army. Luckily, Link knew the radio frequency they used as it was also his job to keep tabs on the army.

If everything went according to plan, the army would be in their way and once the President was safe with them, Link had no doubt they would launch an operation to route out all the assassins in the Palace and recover all the embassadors.

Now it was just a case of trying to make the plan a reality. So far, they had only gotten to the other side of the courtyard.

They could already hear people shouting from the various exits that lead to the courtyard. The assassins obviously knew they were there but finding two people in the dark in a huge courtyard at night would prove to be difficult. Even still, Link knew it would be dangerous as they not only had to hide from soldiers patrolling the paths, but they now had the difficult task of climbing up to the second floor to the security camera headquarters.

"Keep quiet, focus on your footing and plan where you place your hands. And don't look down!" Link hissed quietly as he lifted Zelda up so she could start climbing with him behind so he could catch her if she fell.

Zelda was shaky at first, scared that any second now she would loose her grip and fall, or be shot in the back by a soldier who had found them. But she calmed slightly when she felt one of Link's hand rest on the small of her back for extra support. She knew he must be struggling as much as she was, even more now he kept holding one hand out to help her, but Zelda accepted the help nonetheless.

She had never really been good at this sort of thing. Most kids lived their childhood by running around outside, climbing trees and play equipment; Zelda always had her nose stuck in a book, ever the professional. But that meant that by the time they were finally nearing the window, her arms and legs were shaking, from both fear and pain as she could barely hold on anymore.

"Wait, I'll go in first. No doubt they've got at least one guard in there I need to take out before you come in."

At this, Link dug into his pocket and took out the knuckle buster with the bladed edge and slipped it onto his hand. Zelda had always hated violence but she knew that it was probably necessary. She had promised herself that she would never take a life, but she knew that Link was trained to protect her and if it meant killing, he had to do it.

Link cautiously peeked over the window edge and into the room. There were two guards in the room, facing away from him as they were both looking at the various monitors of the cameras.

Slowly and quietly, Link pushed up the window, hoping not to attract the guards attention. Though it would have been easier for him to just shoot them and be done with it, he knew that the sound of gunshots would attract unwanted attention. He wanted their location a secret for as long as possible which meant he had to take the guards out quickly and quietly.

With the guards still distracted by the monitors, Link cautiously crawled his way into the room and once he found his footing, he fenced his first with the blade, ready to lash out when he was close enough.

Zelda, scared to be left by herself outside, discreetly pulled herself up to the window so she could see what Link was doing.

He approached the soldiers slowly, making sure each time he put his foot to the floor, it didn't make a sound. When he finally got close enough, Zelda was both appalled and impressed.

He moved fast, like a cat as he swung the blade at the first unsuspecting guard, slicing a gash into his throat before he could even register he was being attacked; his words for help taken from him with his slit throat making it unable to breath.

Before the second guard could even react to his comrade being taken down, Link swiftly grabbed ahold of him and stuffed him into a headlock round the throat. Blocking off his air supply, the guard couldn't speak or yell as he struggled silently against Link, his face becoming increasingly more red as he slowly suffocated before collapsing.

Zelda couldn't deny Link was skilled, his efficiency in taking them out so quickly and without struggle was admirable but she felt a little sick at the sight of the dead soldiers. Assassins or not, Zelda hated violence

The guards now dealt with, Link helped pull Zelda through the window. She let out a sigh of relief as she stretched her arms and rubbed at her sore joints, trying to look at anything but the bodies in front of her.

Link went immediately to the monitors, checking on each and every camera to determine where all the soldiers were. As predicted, many of the embassadors were being held hostage in their suites, but at least they were still alive. Most of the soldiers were concentrated by Zelda's suit which was at least some good news as they were now on the opposite side of the Palace which would give them some sort of advantage.

Plugging in his phone, Link waited for the camera footage to start transferring. Whilst they waited, Zelda came forward and looked at the screens.

Zelda had never felt so vulnerable. She was a prisoner in her own Palace. Again, she wondered how her life could have been if she had never been President. She wouldn't have to be running around her own home, scared of the danger that lurked around every corner.

"I've got it!" Link exclaimed as he looked down at his phone, switching from one screen to another, "Come on, most of the third floor is empty right now. We have to go whilst we still have the time."
