Chapter 5: Alice

Tomorrow afternoon

I spent all day with Eponine, she also told me about Montparnasse and what he did to her. Now I'm at the Docks searching Alice, as I walked I saw the misery and how men treated the prostitute wake up my anger.   I saw three prostitute talking to each other, I walked towards them and said when I was in front of them (A/N: Sorry for the repetition of "them" ) 

"Excuse me but do you know where Alice could be ?" 

They looked up at me

" What do you want with her ? " One of them asked by curiosity

" I just want to talk to her " I answered slowly 

" She's over there" Another prostitute said while pointing me the corner of a wall where a woman sat there all curled up " Still crying like always" She added

I turned my gaze towards the prostitute who answered me 

" What do you mean by she still crying ? " I asked looking at her with insistence

" When she first came here and had her first customer, she sat at that same corner and just kept crying, a month later there was this girl, I don't remember her name but she was forced to be here because of her father or something like that, this girl left yesterday with a man and since then Alice just kept crying" She answered

I slowly nodded my head and walked towards Alice, when I reached her, I crouched and she looked at me.

"Please don't make me do this again " She begged

" I'm not here to do this to you" I spoke softly

" Then what are you doing here ?" She asked curious

" My name is Enjolras, I'm here because Eponine told me to come and get you out of this place " I explained

" Eponine ? How do you know her ? " She asked suspiciously

She began to feel suspicious, I need to reassure her or else I can't bring her to the Café.

" I met before she was here and she told me everything that had happened to her and what happened with her father. I told her to stay at my house for now on and she replied that if she can stay at my house without going back in the Docks then you should have a house of your own and start a new life" I added 

She kept looking at me 

" Where will I be staying then ?" She asked softly

" At one of my friend house, he already knows that you will be staying there and since he lives alone, he wouldn't mind some company" I saw the fear in her face " Don't worry this guy is a sweetheart, he wouldn't even hurt a fly, I swear" I added to reassure her 

" Well it couldn't be worse than here" She murmured

I smiled 

"Come on let's get out of here" I stand up as she is and we started walking towards the Café.
