Important A/N at the bottom, but for now, enjoy :D
Chapter 28
"I hate mornings! Especially Monday mornings." I complained to Evie and Carly, dropping my head down on the desk in front of me.
"Oh, I don't really mind them!" Carly said brightly. "No one hates them as much as Evie, though." She laughed.
"Hmm?" I turned to hear Evies opinion on this, but she was fast asleep already, leaning on the desk.
"Well then." Carly observed, before turning to me.
"So how was the date?" Carly asked, trying to wiggle her eyebrows.
"It was.... Good..." I said hesitantly.
"Ooh, what happened?" She asked excitedly.
"Well-" I began, just as my homeroom teacher, Ms. Roy walked in.
"I'll talk to you later." Carly whispered, turning in her seat.
"Ms. Roy, won't care if you talk." Evie said groggily, slumping back onto the desk.
Carly didn't say anything, just stared pleasantly as Ms. Roy took attendance.
"Why are you always so tired?" I leant over and whispered to Evie. She opened one eye lazily, eyeing me up and down.
"I'm nocturnal. I don't sleep at night." She said, before settling her head down on her sweater as a pillow.
"Yeah. Nice one, Ev." I said dryly. "What time do you even go to sleep anyways?" I asked curiously.
"Oh, you know." She waved her hand around absent-mended. "Four in the morning on average." my jaw dropped as I stared at her mess of auburn hair spilling all over the desk.
"Why?!" I asked, bewildered.
Her only answer was a soft snore, burying her face deeper into her sweater.
Well then.
"You may proceed to your first period classes!" Ms. Roy announced.
"What should we do about her?" I asked, motioning to Evie.
"Her first period class is French with Ms. Roy, don't worry about it." Carly smiled.
"Oh, okay." I scowled, remembering what class I had.
Geography, with 'Call me Tracy'.
Apparently, it made her feel younger if we called her by her first name. Because, "You're only as old as you'll accept".
Personally I thought she was going through a mid-life crisis.
On the bright side, Summer was in this class with me, and we were paired to do the end of the year project together.
On the not so bright side, Summer was an awful partner, if I do say so myself.
She still couldn't locate Europe on a map. Which I find pretty ironic, since she's been to Europe about nine times. With her parents jobs, she had more than enough money to fly off to who knows where.
Which is why it would really suck next year. Her parents were shipping her off to some fancy prancy German university.
I should be happy for her, they had an amazing psychology program, (She wanted to be a psychiatrist) but I knew that deep down, neither of us were happy. We'd never been separated for more than two weeks, forget a year! Sure, she'd visit and all, but it wasn't the same.
"Hey." Summer greeted me, merging into the hallway from her homeroom.
"Hey." I sighed.
"What's wrong?" She asked, not really paying attention.
