Anna
Four years later"Jessie! Stop running!" I say as I grab my four year old daughter from going to watch that annoying yellow sponge on TV.
"But I wanna watch SpongeBob mommy!" She says and I shake my head as I take her back to the bedroom so I can tell her about the new baby on the way, well babies.
"Mommy needs to tell you something, Jessie. How would you feel if mommy had another baby?" I ask her and she smiles widely as she claps her hands.
"Baby! Mama gonna have a baby!" She cheers and I laugh.
"Not one baby, but two, Jessie. You'll have either two brothers or two sisters soon." I tell her and she squeals with joy.
Hospital
"Is this your first two?" A nurse asks and I shake my head no.
"No, we got a four year old girl at home named Jessica." I tell her and she smiles as she does the ultrasound, but her brow furrows in confusion shortly after.
"I need to get the doctor, I'll be right back." She says and shuts the machine off before leaving to get my doctor. I look to Chad who grips my hand tightly.
The doctor comes in and does the scan and I see his face drop.
"Well, it looks like the twins are conjoined at the pelvic bone and up their left side. I do advise that you terminate the pregnancy, but that is your call. We can do the separation surgery here but they might be born at 29 to 34 weeks instead of full term." He says and I nod.
"Do they have their own limbs? Would the surgery be an easy one?" Chad asks him and he looks at the scan again and nods.
"There are two legs and two arms each, but to know if they share a heart or anything else, we'd have to wait for them to get a little bigger." He says and Chad nods looking to me.
"Let's wait until we see how complicated it will be before we make any rash decisions that we can't reverse." I say and they both agree with me.
I can't believe this keeps happening to me.
